Way too extreme scoring

Ok, I'm only one month into my career with the new rosters but that's still a lot of games and should be a large enough sample size.

The league ERA of the National League is a ridiculous 3.34 (3.76 in real life). Pitchers in the top of the leaderboard are far below 2.00. HR/9 is 0.75 (around 0.9 in real life).

And this is still boosted by the fantastic Miami Marlins who got beaten 29-4 by Washington, after allowing 21 runs in the 8th inning - with Sam Dyson giving up 15 hits, 3 walks and 17 runs while getting the 3 outs. No one since 1914 has done that and it happens in the first month of my career? Something looks to be messed up with the engine.

IF that was to happen more than 3 times in a season then I would worry (or ask) but one game where a team scores 20 runs in a game and on top of that 20 run outburst late in the game. This is small sample but wouldn't worry too much about it.
To me that game is a great storyline to write and one for the record books. I think its cool.

I'm sure you will get plenty of comments about this, but really, to agree with r0nster, it's just sample size. Play a whole season or 50 and see how it goes.

This game does not precisely mimic real life. But over time, our history with OOTP tells us you'll end up with results that are close to real life (although not identical). And if you don't like the results, once you have a much larger data set, perhaps you will have some evidence we can present to Markus that something may need tweaking.

Good luck!

Did Alvarez get injured in the first inning? Or ejected perhaps? In his absence, the AI made terrible use of the bullpen, burning through four relief pitchers in 4-1/3 innings. I assume the AI used its last available relief pitcher (Dyson) and let him get hammered (even though he might've been tired before or sometime during this appearance).

No, it's not.

I would tweak LTM long before asking for an adjustment to everybody else's well functioning games at the program source.

Small sample size or not I'd tweak things now.

That game was 2 days before my series against them, so for the 2nd and 3rd games, they had 6 of the 7 relief pitchers with red status and 1 with yellow (around 46% rested). Most of them pitched 4 or 5 games in 6 days. The AI should do a better job promoting reinforcement from the minors in these extreme cases.

Just to be an echo, 1 month is definitely small sample size. I'm with rOnster, I think its cool...
