GM or Manager.......Who is doing what?!?!?!?! - Page 2

I am simming ahead 10 years as we speak. Ten years with a full MLB set up in two hours. Nice work there too, on a less than top end machine.

I will take pot luck and hire in as a GM of whatever team fires its GM at the end of the year. GM for 10 years and then look at the career arcs and development across the league. Looking forward to telling the owner to pound sand and handing him a winner. Interested in that part of the AI too.

I took the Phillies in a quick start league, chose manager only and simmed to the Opening Day. I kept the organization news and league news on to keep track of my idiot GM, Rue "is the day we hired him" ben Amaro.

Well in the first two games against the Bahstun Red Sawx... The Phillies win the first one 4-3 and Hamels is cheated out of a win by an "improbable" inside the park HR by Pablo Sandoval, tying up the game in the 7th inning... The star of the game is LF Jordan Danks who went 2-3 with 2R scored including the 8th inning go ahead run. And then CL Papelbon actually comes in and throws a 1-2-3 inning with two K's...

Now the GM cannot stand the prosperity, and signs some Pablo Mateo off the scrap heap and that forces Francoeur to the minors... ok Then the Phillies start Arron Harang and he only gives up one run and Papelbon again goes 1-2-3 and 2K for the Phillies win 2-1??? This is really starting to be good right? Well GM Amaro strikes while the iron is hot... TRADES LF Jordan Danks who is 5-8 with 3 R scored is traded immediately after the game to the Cincinnati Reds for SP Mike Leake... WTF????
I would love the trade IF he wasn't hitting better than .500 and scored every run but two this season... SP Jerome Williams is now on the waiver wire and heading to AAA instead of a scrub RP I have and will probably never use... SMH...

But now I'm ignoring the fact that the Phillies are 2-0 and in a tie for 1st place with the NY Mets... where we will likely be battling for 5th place after 150 more games are played...

Just sayin...

I imported my fantasy OOTP15 CBL league and will continue that one GM and Manager. Today I started the real Blue Jays and I am Managing only.

I play all of my games out one pitch mode only and while on the field I only do player substitutions so that I have zero advantage over the AI teams. Been playing that way for over 13 years now.

i'm starting as manager/GM as the Minnesota Twins.

Going to give a season a couple test runs over the season, check the game out, see how the top prospects (Sano, Buxton, Myers, etc.) pan out. adjust some ratings around the league, etc.

After Monday's patch comes around, we'll start the official league.

So I have set up my historical league several times now, trying to figure out which mods I need to download (facegens/packs? Uniforms? Stadiums?) to get it like I want before diving in.
