I'm an idiot (scheduling concern)

So, in my MLB save (I was the Indians - it was 2042 or something like that), the league decided to shorten the schedule. For a while, it worked, until I realized not every team played the same amount of games. I clicked on Balanced Schedule and the game said "You can't change schedules until the preseason." Okay, fine. I try it again in the preseason and it fails, saying I need to get rid of interleague play if I want a balanced schedule (only now do I realize Balanced Schedule means not that every team plays the same number of games, but that every team plays every other team in their league the same number of times). No big deal, I'll just stick with the schedule the game generates.

Except it didn't generate one. I have an entirely blank schedule. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or would I just have to sim an empty season? What can I do?

What is your league set up? Divisions and teams/division.

In that setup interleague play is a must and a balanced schedule is not possible. See the thread in the link below.

League Setup/Options and see if it will allow you to change the schedule. Good luck

It won't, sadly. Is there any option to prevent aging or progress on contracts? I can live with a blank schedule for one season if I have to.

See if you can import a schedule.

Otherwise, I would just chalk it up to a strike.

Starting to think this league is a loss now. I can't do the playoffs, because the game thinks nobody qualifies for the playoff roster (which is true), so I can't finish the season. I'd really like to just get this season over with and fix it next season. Any thoughts?

Did you do a backup before the season?

My OCD may be overboard but I do complete renamed backups on Dec 31, Jan 1 (all box score logs messages etc deleted), ST and opening day. In between I do cumulative backups in game to the same file name.

It's a bit over the top but disk space is cheap.

You can also manually enter a schedule through the Schedule Editor, though it can be tedious and time-consuming.

I screwed the pooch in tinkering with a schedule to rotate interleague play but forgot to finish my tinkering before preseason of my 2015 season began. So I'm currently in the process of manually scheduling my season, based off the way the 2013 MLB scheduling format is set up. I would have finished a couple of days ago, but I'm taking the time to fine-tune further and I haven't gotten it to my liking yet.

I'm a scheduling geek so I've embraced the screw-up. But if you don't enjoy that aspect, you might be better off starting over.

I don't do backups (although I wish I did.) I think I'll just write it off as a lost cause.
