Players being released in-season during tournaments-why?

There is something in the game that I don't understand why it occurs...even happens to the best players, and almost always to players on a 1-year contract
My game has a nation tournament (Euro, Americas and whatnot) in the middle of the season. There are players, even ones who are leading the team in average or ERA, who are released on the day the tournament starts.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for this?

(BTW - team selection is the day before the start of the tournament)

What levels and experience are your settings at for the tournaments. If you have a midseason tournament and allow major leaguers they will go on loan for that tournament even if in regular season.

Levels: from Major League to Rookie League; experience No Limit
All players go out on loan to the National Team, but some are released by their club team when the tournament starts.
It's as if the club team, instead of granting the player his release to the National Team, expects the player to stay with the team (even though - 0 games being played by the club team during that time). When the player goes to the National Team, he is released then (or even 2 days later)
