Players drafted and immediately released
Hello...
I have a game that started in a previous version (16 or 18, don't remember which). I've noticed that players are drafted, then immediately released from their team. No problem with nationality or rosters (1 level of minors...) Can anything be done to fix this? |

Posting an example and more information will help. Otherwise we all have to guess:
1) which of the three drafts you're talking about (Rule 5, amateur, international) 2) which player was released (how good was the player) 3) who released the player (your team, the AI?) 4) what the word "immediately" means (same day? weeks later?) 5) why you only have 1 level of minors 6) what other league structure and game settings were changed Is this a league? Solo? Historical? Fictional? Perfect Team? Last edited by Drstrangelove; 12-29-2018 at 07:29 AM. |

Lots of questions...trying to answer them:
Amateur draft. Fictional league. The AI releases all of the drafted players the same day they are drafted, no matter how good they are. 2 things to add: 1. This started to happen when I moved the universe to OOTP 19. 2. I have tried something that may work...the "minors" were actually a HS league. I have changed it to an 'A' classification league, hoping this might fix the problem. BTW - what's the problem having 1 level of minors? |

So, then how do teams get players? Do they only sign free agents? Is there an age limit on the minors? E.g., are they releasing only players below a certain age?

also - is your minor league level already at max players? maybe there is no room for them, or as mentioned above, they don't fit the age limits of your minor league.
problem with 1 minor league is not much room for development basically.

Example of this phenomenon...
This has happened every year for every team Also...once season ends, a lot of players are released (even in circumstances that there would be no reason for it - i.e. won awards, not too old, etc.) |
