Most homeruns in a historical league?
What's the most homeruns y'all have seen in a historical league? I just had Jimmy Foxx to hit 111 and he may hit even more this year. It's July 7, and he already has 56.

Sorry...but that is ridiculous. One of the reasons why I play mostly fictional leagues where hitting 50 is something special.
But...since you asked, I have seen Bonds hit 90. |

Babe Ruth 60,1921
Do I have my league totals dead to rights or what? Ruth by year 1915--2 1916--0 1917--8 1918--6 1919--10 1920--51 1921--60 1922--48 1923--37 But Hornsby is the best player in the league 1920 ---259 hits 48 doubles, 20 triples, 20 Hrs--.450 average 1921---.404 45 2bs, 15 3bs, 19 hrs 1922---.357 27 hrs 1923---.388 42 hrs Hornsby has also won the NL BOY award since 1916...a feat only Cobb can claim...and Cobb retired in 1923...which was odd...and he never declined so I have one unrealistic stat Ty Cobb has a lifetime BA of .390...damn

I don't play historical leagues much, but I did sim from like 1901 - 1962 or so and Rudy York had like 70 or so one season.

I had Mickey Mantle hit 80+ in consecutive years, which really came out of nowhere. After that I dialed back the HR production significantly and I never have had another player hit 60.

Sorry I don't really record my league totals
I think HRS were 1600 or so and Ruth had 200 HR against RH, 160 against LH in 1920 and his talent is 133 When 1921 comes around change HRs to 1300 and of course Ruth's Hr's ratings should drop buyt not by alot, so that will give him high 50's Ballpark Factors are important as well, Yankee Stadium is actually neutral to lefty HR hitters in Ruth's day, but the Polo Ground was a LH sluggers heaven

I had Ruth hit 84 once, but I pushed the league HR totals so more would be hit.
In just a regular league without manipulating anything, the most I've seen is 64. |

Steve "Bye Bye" Balboni hit over 50 HR one season (1985 or '86), that's the highest I've seen. I don't remember the exact number off hand.

Nice league totals, Carlton. I've gotten pretty good at them myself, although I've never tried the 1915-25 switch to the live ball.

I did quite well this time Eck...
1st I recalculate league totals Then I changed Ruth ONLY...so he alone would hit an inordinate amount... so that is why he had RATINGS of 200 RH/160 LH yet his TALENT with 0% aging modification would be 133...so over the course of the year...it would become 180 RH/152 LH...thus it became as such 1920 HR totals det 45 was 21 Nya 94 Ruth 51 cha 16 cle 19 sla 35 pha 40 bos 25 So Ruth got the aura of out homering teams It's very important if you want Ruth to do well, bump him WELL over the 150 mark in 1920...but keep his HR talent around 120-130...and he will gradually slide down so he will hit more in 1921...yet not past 60 Same thing with Hornsby and Sisler in the 20's....bump their ratings well over their talent Sisler is my hits king with 260 Hornsby hit .450 in 1920 Only problem I have in my league is that Cobb retired at 35 after hitting .377 and has a .390 career BA....but I can't control that...sometimes retirements are purely random...if Cobb played 3 more years I am sure he would have retired with a .365-.370 BA and now Eddie Collins will overtake him in SBs (followed by Max Carey of the Dynasty Pirates 5-2 in WS play since 1917) and Speaker might overtake him in runs I also had Polo Grounds as 120 LH HR yet Yankee Stadium in Ruth's prime was only 110 LH HR...which debunks a misnomer that Ruth had a very advantageous ballpark

I haven't played with any of the league totals, but this is just crazy. 1945, Joe D just hit 133 homeruns.
