What kind of league are you setting up......
So Beta release arrives Tuesday.
What are peoples' thoughts/plans for the new game. Personally, I am toying with the challenge of the Pirates or try to get the Mets over the top of the Nationals and Braves

for starter i will do what i always do is start a new standard game with the orioles. i love rebuilding much more than mantaining a top team. but lately i have been thinking about setting up a fictional league. for that i am going back and forth between a large completely fictional league with relegation or a fairly small maybe 16 team random debut league just to see things like how a greg Maddux would do in a 4 man rotation against guys like Musial, Williams, Cobb etc.

I'm waiting and hoping to see if ***/KBO players are added into the Historical Minor League database, because the big overarching league I want to set up is a historical one starting in 1871 and working my way forward. No color line, but as time moves forward..I'd start up foreign leagues as they appeared in real life. (I'm also going to go and use real life transactions to spice it up in MLB). If ***/KBO players aren't added. I will probably fiddle around with a present day random debut league. (deleting all the previous history though).

Hopefully set up my Elyria database, add atleast 100 new cities and re organize my league. Also going to write about the Elyrian Baseball League after everything is all said and done.
Might also write about a 8 team New England league in a humorous manner sorta like Phillip Roth does in his Great American Novel book. We will see how that goes. |

Fictional MLB with expansion at the end of season one. I'll be playing as the Carolina Horsemen with a brand new stadium in Charlotte. I'll probably set up ***, KBO, & CPBL leagues, too, although I might integrate Cuba into the MLB draft to shake things up.

I was thinking I might start unemployed in 1960 and go from there.

Can't wait to import my expanded MLB league. Plan on starting it over though, this image is from a test copy I'm running in 20 right now to try a few changes I want to incorporate.

Think I might use the Brewers’ ‘50th season’ to do single-season replays of all of ‘em

Each March when a new version comes out I create my 36 team universe with the current MLB players. So I have enough players for the other six teams I import historical teams. I then make out a list of historical players to import to add to the mix. Finally, I delete certain older current MLB players like Pujols, Verlander, and Cabrera and import the rookie versions so I get them as young stars. I love mixing current and historical players. A Fantasy Draft will be held. I intend on adding four expansion teams after my first season. To do this I will have 8 divisions (four in each league of course) with five teams apiece. There will be no wildcards. I can't wait to start.

I'm starting to think people need to upload more universe templates. Some of these are really creative.
Me I'm vanilla. I don't bring anything from prior ootp in to new. I just restart from the new opening day with my new team. |

I plan to start a new Modern-Day MLB Universe as the GM & manager of the Baltimore Orioles.
Basically the Out-of-the box settings, with these changes that I found to be the best for my game: *80-20 rating Scale (what the scouts use). *No Stars *Trade AI: Very Difficult / favor prospects *Other Leagues: ***, KBO, Mexico and play with the WBC. *League evolution “on”, but No expansion and No relocation. *Change award names to Silver Slugger and Gold Glove The Orioles are in a tough spot with some legacy contracts, mid-market level revenue and a rebuilding system, so with my normal settings above, this will be interesting. |

I'm playing with the idea of picking up the MLB in 1946, after the War, but with a directive from the Commissioner to hold a draft of ALL players, using 1945 standings to label draft positions. The net effect would be to play history with players all on different teams.

I'd pay to see that. Well, not really but I'm looking forward to reading about it in the Dynasty forum.
