3d

3D Ballpark Creator

3D Follow the Ball and many new looks, plus improvements to gameplay and crowd sounds

Sounds like 3D got a fair bit of TLC this year, looking forward to these two features very much.

will building a new park cost your franchise money? like do you have to get owners permission to build the park or can you just build yourself a new park whenever you want??

We are still debating this. In commish mode you will be able to build as many ballparks as you want, but when in normal mode we'll likely tie this to some event & owner discussion.

Hopefully in challenge mode you wont be able to build a new park until the owner allows you to. that would be excellent.

Will we be able to import textures and assets in the stadium builder?

Not from inside the game, but we will provide documentation on how to mod that thing

Follow the ball!! My #1 hope for 3D improvements is on the list. Outstanding.

I have had this vision of being able to more or less simulate "sitting" in the stands or dugout or anywhere in the park and being able to watch the game normally without the ball being out of the frame half the time. I hope that's how this will work.

Watch the trailer here - it shows a brief clip of it right near the beginning. Looks awesome.

Cannot wait to see some teasers on updated 3D, I really love that this is the direction the game is going in. Just amazing!

Be careful what you wish for. In OOTP24 you'll have to get your new ballpark approved by your town's City Council and you'll have to prepare a report! Sorry, frustrated City Planner here!

will the actual dimension effect the game?
Like building a 100 foot wall?

Or is the game still tied to the L/R avg and HRs?

thx

Can we make lineups custom to specific ballparks?
Or at least Home?

If I can be so bold, even if we can build as many ballparks as we want in Commissioner's Mode, can we still get notification that the team's owner wants a new stadium? We can ignore it if we wish, but it's nice to know that someone else in the universe is making decisions too. Maybe add it to the League Evolution menu...

I would think the ball park builds in franchise mode would be part of league evolution.

So in franchise mode, a new ball-park would have significant impacts on the following off the top of my head:
*fan interest / attendance (it would go up for a few years once the stadium is delivered and impact revenue).
*Park factors (of course)
*Possible relocation; I.E. a new stadium would ratchet down that probability or perhaps even prevent it for so many years.

And yea...the "follow-the-ball" camera will have a greater impact than I had imagined.

I went back and looked at the trailer again based on what Bluenose mentioned; I play-out all of my games and this is going to be pretty cool.

And the additional animations are very much welcomed.
