Should I keep upcoming FA?
I have started a current Yankees dynasty as of yesterday. My question is to whether I should offer extension to Didi Gregorious or replace him with a kid in minors, Thairo Estrada. Didi is not impressing me by batting in the .230's.

Continue gathering information. No requirement to resign on September 1st. see how end of season and playoffs go. Yankee’s have lots of money, but it’s also about term. What kind of extension is Didi looking fir? The young kid looks okay, but not great. He had a good 2019 so may be developing. If you don’t sign Didi, would it free up capital for someone/something else you want to do?
You could always qualify Didi, get him on a one year deal or recoup a draft pick for him. That would allow you another year to gather information on the situation. My thoughts tend to favour flexibility and with the Yankee’s, you have a lot of it. I would qualify Didi fir a season, see what he is truly worth in FA, you can match that if you really want him or take the pick and expend the resources elsewhere. |

I have always let him go after this season. I would rather have the draft pick and the money to get a pitcher.
I find DJ, Andujar, Gleybar, and Voit to be worth the budget bucks right now. Save the money for pitching. |

Hello fellow Yankees player!
Don’t worry yet about making a decision. You have time. If you *do* choose to let Didi go, I would highly recommend picking a cheap vet as insurance/competition. Preferably someone good at D, to make up for Miggy and Gleyber’s shortcomings. Long live the Evil Empire! |
