RIP Stuart Scott

"Cool as the other side of the pillow"

I always thought that he was the epitome of what an ESPN anchor should be. RIP Stuart Scott.

It was great to have S.S. on ESPN. He animated sports news in a cooler way than anyone else in his time.

If you liked him or not he opened the door to originality instead of the monogamy we grew up with in sportscasting. Thank you Stuart and may you rest in peace.

This breaks my heart and every sports fan who watched this man on ESPN over the years should have tears in their eyes.

Goodbye Stuart Scott, you were the cool side of the pillow, the butter on the roll, and driver of the bus to school. May your spirit finally rest in peace and tranquility.

BOO-YEAH!!!

When I was in the Navy around 1996, a group of us would turn on ESPN Sportscenter just to watch Stuart Scott at 6 am. It was our morning ritual after breakfast for over 2 years. He made ESPN cool. He will be missed.

I roffled at monogamy. Scott would too.

I didn't realize it or fully appreciate it till I was older, but watching Scott and Eisen on Sports Center truly was something special. Great childhood memories, they made sports cool and fun. Them together was the best, and ESPN will never have a tandem like that again. My favorite all time Scott highlight line had to be every Blue Jays highlight from the late 90s with Carlos hitting a home run. "Delgado...? Del GOT IT!" Rip Stu

I was shocked when I saw the headline on espn.com. I assume his cancer was only known about by his family and close friends? I'm not sure exactly when he started working for ESPN, but I have fond memories of watching him on episodes of SportsCenter from the early 2000s through until now. He had an outgoing, entertaining personality, but was not annoying.

The cancer was known, I don't think people knew he was so sick recently though.

Yea, read about it over the weekend. I was shocked. He is what I think of when I think of SportsCenter or ESPN. RIP
