So you just paste the name sets right in the name file?
Newbie question I know but I couldn't find the explicit answer. If I add some of these awesome namesets to the game, I edit the world folder and add whatever ethnicities and nations, etc. Then just paste the names in the names and first names files? The game recognizes a new name set within that text file simply based on going from z to a?

Need Help Too
I could desperately use some help with this as well! I'm going to check out the thread that you linked to and hopefully I can figure it out but if you figure it out could you maybe respond and give me a quick breakdown of how you got it to work? I'm working on a new fictional league right now that I'm really excited about but one of the biggest things I want with that league is to have it be made up of a much more diverse population of players. It's going to drive me nuts to see players from Curacao with names like "Jose Dominguez" so any help with fixing this would be so appreciated!

So, if I make changes to the first name file in the database folder, will they only take effect when I create a new game? I know that is the case when you change the world_default file.
I updated the Australian first names and actually removed Jai and Dominic as they seemed to be the names that were being overused when creating fictional players. But when I filled a team in my current game with fictional players, 6 Jai's and 5 Dom's!!! PS- What does the first number mean in relation to the names? (i.e. Jai, 1, 28) I realize the second number is the country code.

Game -> Game Settings -> Database -> Database Tools -> Re-import name & ethnicity database The first number is the frequency, for example in the default file, ethnicity 0 has: Ace,1,0 Adam,1949,0 This means that in the game a player generated using this nameset is 1,949 times more likely to have the name Adam than he is the name Ace. One correction on your post above - the second number isn't the country code, it's the ethnicity code. For example, in the default file, ethnicity 1 is Hispanic, but it's used by countries like Andorra (nation 5), El Salvador (nation 60), Guatemala (nation 80), Honduras (nation 86), and Argentina (nation 9). |
