those a's jerseys are INCREDIBLE! Is there a way to have home AND away jerseys in the game?

Some jerseys, like the Astros rainbow jerseys, need more than the primary, secondary, and striping colors. In those cases, you can manually create your compiled jersey image, load it into the game, and you'll have your jersey. The work I'm posting here is all from compiled jersey images. Once all 30 teams are finished, I'll post the zip file and you'll be able to use any of these jerseys without worrying about whether or not you have the right jersey template. Hats have a default template and no option to choose a different template from within the game. To do either of these, you need to manually create the compile cap image yourself and then add the striping or change the colors of the panels. Changing panel colors is pretty easy, but striping is a bit more challenging because of the way the compiled image wraps on the player's head. You can use straight lines on the front cap panel, but the side panels get a lot of curve to them. The stripes on the Pirates caps in this thread actually have very warped side panel stripes in order to get them to show up straight in the player photo.

Thanks fhomess
I appreciate you taking the time.
I did sucessfully load some of deft's templates into the game. Of course, once I do so I realized you can not change jersey colors up above on the uniform screen. All his jersey templates come in that green color. How do you change the colors on an loaded mod jersey template? Can you do that in the game or do you have to work on it in photoshop and simply load the finished product? Again...thanks so much and I look forward to your response.

You use the jersey style pulldown on the bottom left of the screen.

thanks Deft
Ummm...at work and away from the game, so not sure what button this is. I will look tonight. Any additional instruction on my questions is more appreciated than you know!
By the way, Deft, thanks for these templates! While I love the old school MLB unis and stuff, the RIBC is all about originality...and your templates allow for the best CUSTOM made unis. I look forward to your response.

Sauce, with the templates, they need to go into the data/jerseys folder and be named appropriately. It sounds like you're using the load button on the team logo screen. Don't use the load button in the jersey section to load the template. Stick them in the folder and restart the game. When you go to the team logos screen, there's a button below the compiled cap image that you can use to bring up a pull down list of all the jersey templates in the main OOTP jersey folder. Choose the template you want from that list. The game will then use the colors in the top half of the screen and overlay them on the template to create the compiled jersey.
When the game compiles the jersey, the following happens to the template: Green gets replaced by the primary jersey color. Blue gets replaced by the secondard jersey color. Red gets replaced by the pinstripe jersey color. The logo gets superimposed on the front of the jersey. The compiled jersey gets saved in data/saved_games/league.lg/jerseys. You only use the load button if you have a pre-compiled jersey to pull in for that team. The pre-compiled jersey will already have all the right colors and the logo on it.

Honestly, these jerseys are so awesome that I nearly started to cry.
And once I see the 1959-1960 Cleveland Indians jersey I believe I will. I've been waiting for something like this before starting a 1959 historical league, to see if I can get some Face-Gen'd Cleveland Indians to finish first instead of the Chicago White Sox that year. Now it looks like I'll be starting it pretty darn soon. Thanks for your incredible efforts! |
