what to do at third base

i seem to fight my way to 3rd base at least 3 times a game only to see the end of the innings before he the runner can reach home plate.

does anyone have any tips as to how to make the next move?

thanks

Get better hitters?

Yeah, that isn't helpful, but your team may just be slumping at the moment. Or facing really good pitchers. Or your hitters just suck. Etc.
