If this happens it just goes to show how unethical OOTP continues to be.

If the engine isn't ready for the first release, how can it be ready for the second version?

I'm done playing the first version. My computer crashed a couple of months ago and there is no point in downloading the game for a week and then have the new game come out.

Because they (OOTP) quit developing the first game as they promised and started the new one. Again... ethics... OOTP seems to be lacking them.

I can't tell you exactly when the patch will be released, as I'm not privy to that info, but as far as testing goes, the match engine has been in testing for FHM2014 for quite a while.

Because the match engine was created for the second version, and retrofitted to the first version.

I imagine there's a bit of work getting that to work properly. It would be like sticking the engine from OOTP 6.5 into the shell of OOTP2.

Sementa I know its been tested by the people behind the scenes who test for the game.

But for a long while this "patch" has been presented as being released so the people who bought this "game" would be able to try out the new engine, and give feedback in order to help with the new version (FHM2).

Obviously that's not really going to happen as FHM1 is basically buried and gone, and the new game is coming up and the original buyers didn't get to provide any feedback on how the game was\is shaping up.

That was the basic message of my post.

Ah, ok, I misunderstood your statement.

It's unfortunate that the patch was not released this past Friday. Giving some of the game's harshest critics a chance to spend the whole weekend beating the crap out of the match engine would have helped pick out any remaining bugs that the beta testers haven't found-- because you can be quite sure that if there were problems, people would have been very vocal about it. Now, if the patch gets released during the work week, it's a crapshoot whether there is time to fix any bugs that appear in the match engine, release a new beta, and verify the problem is solved before FHM2 comes out next weekend.

The main problems that I have at this stage is a lot of the features that were discussed over the last year or so with the final patch are now dead and gone, and the eSellerate fix that was released for OOTP16 almost immediately still has yet to see the light of day with FHM, so I have not been able to boot the game up on my Mac in I dont know how long.

I know, I know I can get a Steam key, and kudos to them for taking that step however I buy both games through eSellerate on my laptop for a reason. I dont like running Steam on my Mac. I just dont like how it bogs things down for me when I mainly use my mac for a number of different purposes that have nothing to do with gaming. Because of that, eSellerate is the perfect fix.

So I've been left with a dead icon on my desktop. That's an issue.

I will find out soon about the patch release. I know this was likely delayed because Sebastian was away for a little while and just got back.

And there are some other things going on behind the scenes that are of more importance right now that have pushed that patch further down the priority list. I can't go into detail on that, but all will become clear pretty soon.

Cole, you`ve done great work rehabilitating the FHM community, and I am hopeful that FHM2 will work out, and is actually launched on time, but I hope you can understand the skepticism you might get around here when you say "all will become clear pretty soon" for a patch that was promised well over a year ago...

It has been stated that the patch will be released before FHM2. Since they have not told us otherwise, and I see no reason for them to so far, the patch is still coming prior to release.

While technically true the allusion was that the patch would be out in time for us to actually play the game. Again.. it's an ethics thing. Is OOTP/FHM about the heart of the matter or the letter of the law.

I am still betting on Sept 27 at 11PM EST,
but even that would likely get me good odds from a sportsbook in Vegas

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay.

The latest ...

As I alluded to before, a pretty significant project is in the works related to FHM 2 that has unexpectedly pushed the FHM 2014 patch down the priority list. This is something that will be a big benefit for the franchise and is the reason the FHM 2014 patch has yet to be released.

As soon as we have more information, it will be shared publicly.

I would honestly just take the patch as it is this minute and see how it runs. Looking forward to the second edition though.

I would like to see how the new game engine works. Since I enjoy the in game coaching aspect as well as the GM portion of the game that's what will determine whether I will purchase the next edition. Been checking the forum almost daily, looking forward to trying it
