The good news is that Dan Ross was very sharp, leading the Jays to a 6-4 win over Cleveland.

The bad news is that Ross came in the game after Howard Richmond left with a leg injury after one inning. We await word on how serious it is.

Ryne Sandberg hit his 3rd home run of the year.

Paul Molitor went 4 for 4 with a home run and Ken Phelps hit a grand slam as the Blue Jays downed Cleveland 8-4.

Rickey Henderson was hit in the hand with a pitch but it appears that nothing is broken. They will likely give him a few days off.

Paul Molitor has signed a six year contract extension that will pay him a little over $9.4m

The fans are overjoyed and so is the organization.

The Blue Jays didn't manage a hit until the 7th but Nolan Ryan never let up and Ryne Sandberg homered to tie it up in the 8th and then walked with the bases loaded in the 9th to give the Jays a 2-1 win over Cleveland!

Word has come back about Howard Richmond, and it isn't good. He has a torn meniscus and will be on the shelf for the next three months.

The Jays have placed him on the 60-day DL.

Shane Simmons was called up from Cornwall.
