The good news is that Dan Ross was very sharp, leading the Jays to a 6-4 win over Cleveland. The bad news is that Ross came in the game after Howard Richmond left with a leg injury after one inning. We await word on how serious it is. Ryne Sandberg hit his 3rd home run of the year. WP - Dan Ross (1-2) Save - David Wells (13) LP - Oscar Escamilla (4-6) Record - 32-32

Rickey Henderson was hit in the hand with a pitch but it appears that nothing is broken. They will likely give him a few days off. WP - Walt Terrell (4-2) LP - Jim Deshaies (6-6) Record - 33-32

It has been clear that the Blue Jays were trying to clear up some money and today we found out why.
Paul Molitor has signed a six year contract extension that will pay him a little over $9.4m The fans are overjoyed and so is the organization.

Word has come back about Howard Richmond, and it isn't good. He has a torn meniscus and will be on the shelf for the next three months.
The Jays have placed him on the 60-day DL. Shane Simmons was called up from Cornwall.
