Getting the early 1900s right

Hey all... fictional player here. I like to start my leagues in historic eras... while usually I start right after WW2, this time I decided to start a bit earlier -- 1904.

For anyone who is playing seasons this old, I have two questions:

1. Pitching rotations didn't really exist back then, and I'm trying to figure out how to get OOTP to behave as such (short of taking control of every team myself). I can't seem to balance the SP stamina needed to get the accurate CG% with "start highest rested" to get my top pitchers to pitch more games. IRL, there might be 4 or 5 pitchers on a team, but the top 2 pitchers often pitched about 33% of them each. Thoughts?

2. I think this is a bug... OOTP is NOT enforcing reserve roster limits. I have them set to 5 (with an 18 man active), and in a four-team league, 2 of the 4 are carrying 6 and 8 men on their reserve, respectively.

Any other tips for getting real-world results from OOTP for an early 1900s season? I have DL off (didn't exist until at least 1915), awards off (the first MVP award was awarded in 1931), am manually controlling market size and other factors to keep attendance/profits low (in many cases the average attendance of a minor league staring in this era was below 2,500 a game and profits were thin), and am manually adjusting modifiers to keep statistics in line. Anything else?

Thanks!
