Damn, Yanks were elminitaed by cheaters 3 years in a row. Altuve should be forced to walk across the country and hand Judge his MVP trophy and kiss his feet. Judge then should be allowed to smack his ass all the way back to Houston

Altuve plays 81 games in a park with a trash can for sign relay. Judge plays 81 gams in a park where the fence is six feet from home plate.

Sounds even to me.

The game when played competitive to win has --
players taking advantages no matter the position they play ....

Baseball has some out-of-date rules but those rules need to be addressed and players and teams need to required to play by the rules .

Illegal substances -- Spit balls -- George Brett Pine Tar on the Bat -- Corks/rubber balls in the bats -- coating and material bats are made from -- uniforms -- sandpaper ...... I remember them basically undressing the pitcher to find an illegal material / substance .

Players, Coaches, and Teams were punished .

The PROBLEM this is a WHOLE team --- whether they participated or just had knowledge ------- IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED .

Instead Major League Baseball is going ahead with Tech. in the games . Strike Zone ??? Angles of Cameras ??? Wearing electronics ???

REALLY !

Should they "mike" the pitcher and catcher ? How about batter and third base coach ?

ANOTHER PROBLEM -- teams cheating and stealing signs then saying that the Pitcher was tipping pitches ............ were any or How many injuries did pitchers get trying to alter deliveries ?

**** If I throw a pitch with "illegal" substance - it is 30 to 60 days suspension . BUT if I the batter is told every pitch that is being thrown - it is okay ???

Best thing MLB can do now is let a player strike happen and no games for a few years, come back and re-brand as MLB/WWE with an interactive phone app.

This whole thing kind of turns me off to MLB.

This whole thing is an example of why I stopped having a "favorite player" after Barry Sanders retired. Cause they will disappoint you. I admit I liked Altuve. Seeing him get so many clutch hits for the Astros at his size, I couldn't help but admire him. If I had become a fan of his, I would be soooooo heartbroken right now.

Suspend the PLAYERS on the 2017 Astros roster HALF the games they played in ..

played 80 games = 40 game suspension

does not matter where they currently play .

Roster --- https://www.baseball-reference.com/t...7-roster.shtml

Since every team is firing people ( or parting ways ) do the suspensions start now or when they are rehired ?

Man, this day just keeps getting better, lol. In a related story, Trout is about to be implicated in an HGH scandal. It's all over Twitter right now. Here's the story:

The video on Altuve where he clearly does not want people to remove his shirt is super suspicious.

Hard for MLB to walk back the statement no players will be punished. But it could if it could say it has new evidence not known when the statement was made.

Perhaps. But still:

1. Players cheated
2. Players admitted to cheating after immunity was given to them

So I don't see how additional evidence could lead to a justification for changing Manfred's mind unless - purely as an example - the new evidence was of a buzzer-under-uniform-scheme, and Altuve was asked for all that he knew about the cheating and he did not mention the buzzer scheme. IOW, he didn't hold up his end of the deal, thus nullifying the immunity... But simply more evidence on the trash-can-banging scheme - something they've already admitted - wouldn't suffice, I'd think.

I didn't explain the details of "new evidence". You have a much better explanation.

Was immunity given to the players? I haven't read that anywhere. Or are we just assuming that because the players seem to have gotten off scot-free?

While I agree that it is unsubstantiated (and I really hope not true) are we really expecting the media to do its job and actually investigate something? The people that cover baseball are really good at not actually doing their job because they sure enjoy the fringe benefits of covering the sport.

I enjoy listening to the baseball channel on XM and over the last few days I have been hearing from a lot of them about how this was known by all of them at the station for a long time. That plenty of players had shared these things off air. So if it was so well known why didn't the media do it's job? In this regard it is just like steroids. Everyone supposedly knew about it but didn't lift a finger. Then those same hypocrites will keep said guys out of the hall.

This isn't even baseball's biggest black eye in my opinion. What about all of the human trafficking/rights violations they are guilty of? However, that is another scandal for another day.
