Ultimate Project for Mod Developers!!!!
I have zero ability to program, but I just read a glaring omission in OOTPBB 2006 that just screams out for a mod, and I'll wager many people would agree.
Per the Importing of OOTP 6 leagues threads in the General Discussions Board: Quote:
Creation of a mod that does this should be Priority #1! |

Why did you feel the need to piss all over my post? The news has only been around for a couple days, and I just learned of it. Like the vast majority of people here, I do not hang around this section of the message boards, and I'll bet most of them don't know about this either....especially the guys who hang out on the other Mods forum. |

Dude, chill. Didn't mean to "piss all over" your post. I just think if you would have looked around there has already been discussion on this topic and it has been known for quite some time that none of those things would likely be convertable to the new version. Markus' recent post was just a confirmation of those beliefs.

Well, honestly, I wouldn't have been creating a project for others to develop. As I just said in another thread, the "demanding" attitude of these forums is really starting to get tiresome for me. You are telling others what should be priority #1 right after admitting you havn't been around and can't help out at all. So, I responded a bit grumpily and for that I apologize. |

back on topic (is that allowed in this sub-forum anymore?), this is my thoguhts on it: So, what does not import? - Any history of any kind (team history, league history, player history, record books etc.) - Any coaches (fictional coaches/scout get generated and added instead) - Lineups, depth charts and pitching roles - Career minor league stats - Team logos or player pictures (the game does no longer support .BMP files) - Manager mode (your manager) - Any passwords Basically the only way I'm seeing this working is to know the .dat file layout, then having a translation program (aka transferring data from the old format into the new location) run to "fill in the blanks" As for doing that, the hard part woudl be finding out how the .dat files are laid out. To figure that out, I wish you luck.
