How to stop a player from being Two-way?
I drafted a few guys who had decent pitcher ratings and good batter ratings so I've given them a year to do both and am now reassessing what to do with them.
Based on how their ratings have changed, I want to set some of them to focus 100% on batting/fielding and give up pitching. How can I do this? When I click on Actions > Set Game Strategy, I see the "Use as a two-way player" option greyed out (see screenshot). So, how can I stop a player being a two way player? |

Just a guess, maybe it is tied to the 2 way setting under stats&AI?

I believe it is greyed out if you give the minor league manager or mlb manager control of the lineup.

Check the box "Lock to current minor league team" and the Two Way player checkbox will become active and then you should be able to uncheck that box and then uncheck the Lock to current minor league team box again and you should be all set.

I find myself wondering if perhaps using the Force Start/Use at Position setting in combination with the other things already mentioned/tried might help.

Ugh, I forgot about the AI making the change back. You may need to set him to force start at a certain position and uncheck that box, and then the AI should only use him as a hitter.

When I set a player to force start at a position, does the manager still give them the necessary rest (especially for a catcher) or will they play every single game? Thanks. |

That has been my experience, but I have never forced someone at catcher, but for other positions I have seen them get their days off as needed.
