April 10th- 2-3 with a solo HR, three total runs, a walk, a strikeout, and a stolen base. Cardinals won 9-4.

April 11th- 3-4 with a double, a run, and two stolen bases. Cards lost to the Reds 8-4.

April 12th- Bobby went 5.2 innings against Tampa, giving up 3 hits, 1 run, and 3 walks, while striking out 10. However, the Orioles lost 1-0, so Bobby is now 0-1. He's been getting no run support.

April 14th- 3-4 with 2 doubles, an RBI, a run, and a stolen base. Cards lost 6-5.

April 15th- 2-3 with a solo HR and an RBI single, plus a walk and a stolen base. Cardinals beat the Marlins 3-1.

April 16th- 1-4 with a run, 2 strikeouts, and a stolen base. Cards won 5-4.

April 17th- Bobby pitched 5.1 innings against the Yankees, giving up 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 runs while striking out 12. The O's won 4-3, but Bobby didn't get the W. Dorado went 2-4, but the Cards lost 4-2.

April 18th- 2-4 with a double, a run, and a stolen base. Cardinals beat the Cubs 6-2.

April 19th- 3-4 with a grand slam, a walk, a strikeout, and 5 total RBI. Cards won 8-6.

April 23rd- 2-4 with 2 home runs, 3 total RBI, 3 total runs, a walk, and a stolen base. Cardinals won 9-1.

April 29th- 1-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Cardinals won 5-1.

April 30th- 1-3 with a double, a walk, and a strikeout. Cardinals won 4-3.

Bobby has done alright, but his record doesn't show it. He is 1-2 with a 3.34 ERA, but he has only given up 1 homer, 7 walks, and a league-leading 50 strikeouts (a 1.19 FIP). He has accumulated 1.8 WAR, which leads the league. The Orioles are 11-16 (last in the AL Central).

Meanwhile, Dorado had one of the best months EVER. His slash line is .441/.513/.775 (leads league in all three) with 8 home runs, 23 RBI, 30 runs, and 45 hits (the run and hit totals lead the league as well). He has 28 stolen bases (second-most has 11) and only 2 times caught stealing. He totals an absurd 3.7 WAR, putting him on pace for an absurd 22.1. He easily won Batter of the Month this April. The 17-10 record by St. Louis leads the NL Central and is third-best in baseball.

May 7th- Bobby went 5.2 innings against Houston, giving up 3 hits and a 3-run homer, walking 1 and striking out 6. Not great, but the 7-3 win improved his record to 3-2. Jesus went 1-4 with a strikeout and a stolen base as the Cardinals won 2-0.

May 14th- 1-3 with a walk, a run, and 2 stolen bases. Cardinals won 6-2.

May 15th- 2-3 with a walk. Cards won 4-3.

May 17th- 2-4 with a solo homer and a stolen base as the Cardinals beat the Marlins 4-2.

May 18th- Bobby got PUMMELED by the Angels (again). He went 2.1 innings, giving up 7 runs on 3 hits (including 2 homers). He walked 4 and struck out 3. The 15-8 loss not only bumped him down to 4-3, it moved his ERA up a full run, from 2.63 to 3.69. Dorado went 1-4 with a run, a walk, a strikeout, and a stolen base as St. Louis won 3-1.

May 19th- 0-4 with a strikeout. Cards lost 7-0.

May 20th- 1-3 with a walk and two stolen bases (pushing him above 40 on the year). Wasn't enough, however, as the Cardinals lost 3-2 to the Pirates.

May 24th- Bobby rebounded by not giving the Red Sox a single run over 6.1 innings. He gave up only three hits, walking 2 and striking out 7. Baltimore's 3-0 win improved his record to 5-3. Jesus had a good day as well, going 2-5 with 2 RBI and a strikeout as the Cardinals beat the White Sox 6-3.

May 28th- 2-4 with two stolen bases (putting Dorado at 50 on the season). Cardinals won 2-0.

May 29th- Bobby HANDCUFFED the Marlins, only giving up two hits and a walk in 7.2 innings while striking out 11. He didn't get the win, however, as the Orioles would win 1-0 on a walkoff. Dorado went 0-4 as the Cardinals lost 5-1.

May 30th- 2-5 with a solo home run, an RBI single, and another run. Cardinals thrashed the Reds 13-3.

May 31st- 1-4 with two walks, a strikeout, a stolen base, and one caught stealing. Cardinals won 5-3.

Bobby is crushing it, as he is now 5-3 with a 2.93 ERA. He is only allowing .5 HR and 2.8 walks per nine innings, while averaging 12.2 strikeouts. His 2.7 WAR still leads the league. The Orioles' record of 24-31 puts them fourth in the AL East.

Jesus Dorado regressed a little, but not much. His slash line is .371/.446/.663, all of which lead the league. He has 75 hits, 14 doubles, 15 homers (no triples...weird after he led the league in triples last year), 44 runs, and 39 RBI. His 51 stolen bases laps the field, and his WAR of 5.9 is a head above everyone else. The Cardinals own the best record in baseball because of him (35-18).

Alright, two things...

1. Bobby will hit arbitration this offseason. He is currently estimated at $10 million.

2. I'm going to stop doing the game logs and instead go season by season, now that both players are (essentially) fully developed. I want this thread to span their entire careers and I don't feel like logging every game until then. This will allow me to focus on longer trends more than minute games. However, I will still post a summary of any important moments (hitting streaks, shutouts, ASG appearances, etc)

Now, the awards:
-Tampa Bay won the World Series
-Dorado won Gold Glove at 2B
-Dorado won Silver Slugger at 2B
-Tyler Glasnow won the Cy Young in the AL. Bobby placed second, earning 2 first place votes. I think he was robbed, but I digress.
-Dorado was the unanimous NL MVP

2023 Season

Here were their stats:

Dorado set single-season records for batting average (.471), hits (288), and total bases (477), while also breaking his own records for stolen bases (159), and wins above replacement (21.3). His wOBA was .532 and his OPS+ was 255. He actually played in center field for a large portion of the season, so he is now a 90 there as well. He won Batter of the Month every month except July, he made the All-Star team, and he put together a 34-game hit streak in May and June.

Bobby set the single-season record for strikeouts per 9 IP (13.48) and won another pitching triple crown in the AL. He won Pitcher of the Month in June and made the All-Star team.

Both the Orioles and the Cardinals made wild-card spots, so both these fellas will be going back to October baseball soon.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have signed young superstar Jesus Dorado to an eight-year extension worth $177 million.

Dorado will make $9 million in 2024, $14.8 million in 2025, $21.2 million in 2026, and $26.4 million every year until 2031 (the final year is a player option).

Dorado said "I never dreamed that I would be capable of being where I am today...I love my teammates and this city and I'm super happy to re-sign. Now let's win a championship."

This simulation is too good. The Cards lock their guy up early...and we diddle around with a one-year contract. I don't suppose we could come up with an amazing career GM and owner for the Orioles?
