since he was down to my 5th starter, and his asking price is ridiculously high thanks to those White Sox missions, I decided to put my Ted Lyons card up for auction (picked him up for 8K about two months ago)....

15 minutes later he sells for the BIN price of 45K (maybe I should have asked for more )... as Krusty the Clown said once: "they drove a dump truck full of money up to my house.... I'm not made of stone"

time to go shopping

45k to spend on an OL team?

...and I get excited when my account has 4000 PP and I start to wonder if I should get one or two players.

It adds up through the seasons. I just spent some saved PP trying to keep Ewa Beach from being relegated.

Keepers Cling to Top in OL S273

Asylum continued to lead while playing a meager OL schedule in yesterday's sim, but the race is on as the field of contenders widened to at least a half-dozen. CliffMarkle, 15-8, Daytona Beach, 9-4, New York, 9-5, Sanguine, 6-3, and Frankenthal, 12-8, all had big days.

yeah, never had this much on my v20 team, so trying to be patient and wait for the right player(s).... nice to click off the 'players i can afford' box and have a bunch of diamond level players still show up

Diamond league update:

Waffletown maintains their hold on the top spot in the OL standings, but plenty of OL games remain in the final two months.

for the big picture... in the AC East, Motown sits in 2nd place, only 1 game back in a super-tight division where 6 games separate first from last. In the AC Central, Cooper sits just a half game off the division lead and currently holds the top wild card position. The Seattle Pilots sit in 4th place but only 6 games back so could look to make a late season move. In the AC West, the Seattle Endless Summer is hoping the dog days of summer are good for them and they can quickly erase the 3 game deficit between themselves and first place.

In the NC East, Waffletown continues to roll along with the best record in the league at 65-39, but their division lead is only 2.5 games as the third best record in the league is also in their division. California sits 9 games back in 3rd place, and currently holds the 2nd wild card position. In the NC Central, Cincinnati (5.5 games back) and Roncalli (7 games back) both hope to heat up with the temps in August and make a run at the division leader. In the NC West, Chippewa sits in a distant 3rd place, 16.5 games back; and Luckenbach is currently the foundation of the division, 22 games back and in danger of relegation. Both teams hope to find some success in August and September to salvage a piece of the season.

Blitzkrieg Boppers just got more dangerous by essentially flipping diamond Gary Carter, who wasn't hitting (dunno why I got him when I already had LaValliere), and acquiring 89 Hugh Duffy.

Might be this team's endgame DH. Just hits everyone so well.

I was all too happy to pay 30k...endgame DH and occasional left fielder while I train him, at least for me.

yeah, not sure I fully understand it, but for whatever reason they've really found their groove in the diamond league.... team winning percentage by tier so far:

Iron - .543 (1 season)
Bronze - .505 (2 seasons)
Silver - .522 (5 seasons)
Gold - .517 (4 seasons)
Diamond - .576 (3 seasons)... plus .621 in season 4....

I'd say they just need to get over that playoff hump and reach Perfect, but might be asking for trouble there

Ewa Beach has acquired Jose Ramirez to help us stay in Perfect. We are still in the relegation zone. Tomorrow will be a big day. Aina Haina has given up the division lead and is now about even with the Puppies for 3rd place. Kaneohe holding onto its division despite a horrible month.

Cowboys had a lifetime .575 winning percentage in Diamond. Only missed the playoffs 1 year in 9 seasons (1 GB that year too). Currently have a .458 winning percentage in Perfect. Stay in Diamond as long as you can!
