FHM5 Hotfix, Version 5.4.44, Now Available

A new hotfix update for Franchise Hockey Manager 5, version 5.4.44, has just been released.

To apply the update:

-If you are playing the eSellerate version, just download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course.
-If you are playing the Steam version, the game will auto-update if you have that option active. If you don't see the update in your Steam update queue, you may need to exit and restart your Steam client.

Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves.

This update was needed to fix an issue with penalty calling in the previous 5.4.42 update; a change in that update that was intended to make "evening-up" of penalty calls in a game instead did the opposite, which could result in a snowball effect where a team that gave its opponent 2-3 early power plays would become more and more likely to get penalties called against it. We've fixed that, although doing so resulted in NHL PIM totals dropping back to where they originally were before 5.4.42. So, we'll have to try s different approach to getting them to match the real numbers more closely (although this chane does seem to have resulted in much better PIM numbers for lower-level leagues, some of whom had issues with excessive penalties.) Additionally, a small change was made to the goon and enforcer roles to make it less likely that the AI will assign them to defencemen; this primarily affects a number of defencemen in the 1970's through 1990's in historical mode.

Don't think it did anything for the NCAA/USHL, looks good otherwise.

Yeah, those aren't playable leagues, the excessive PIM there are a different issue. Working on a fix for it.

nice, can't wait till it's out. After a few sims it's really the only major thing that stands out to me. You guys have done a really good job this year imo

Curious as if there is progress being made on the multiple issues with the Online capabilities of the game. Such as:

- Draft Lists not exporting properly

Was wondering if there was some kind of temporary work around for the high pim in unplayable leagues?Is there a way i could disable those leagues so i don't get prospects from them in the draft?

Just started a new save with my hometown Bulldogs and there is 2 Van Loons on the Bulldogs one 1.5/1.5 and 1 2.0/3.0 just so you know for next update

Starting an online league and we're preparing for the initial draft.
Is there a way to export the available players in CSV format so the GM's can review beforehand?

Yup, go to the World menu and choose "Export CSV". That'll dump a bunch of .csv to your save folder, in the import_export subfolder. Player_master.csv and player_ratings.csv have the data you want.
