Statistical disscrepancie re: shutout
I noticed if the home team starter pitches 9 shut out innings, and the visitors pitch 8, then you win the game in the bottom of the 9th but you change pitchers just in case, the starter loses the shutout even though no other pitcher threw a single pitch. At least this is the case in 18, not sure about 19.

Why would you change pitchers "just in case"? Just in case of what?

As Bn asked why would you change the pitcher.before the top of the 10th inning that didn't happen?

The suggestion is to fix it so pitchers are registered when they throw their first pitch and not when you make the move. As for why I would do that, it's just in case I don't score I don't want my long reliever to be "cold" or "tiring".

I've long advocated for a different solution: don't allow a player to enter as pitcher while his team is at bat.
