Are FaceGen beards supposed to change randomly?

Curious if the design was meant for players to sport new facial hair every so often or if it's a bug that it's switching around?

I haven't pinpointed exactly when it changes but I will notice one year they are sporting a goatee, the next year a full brawny beard...next thing you know it's a huckleberry mustache.

Yes, it's intentional and random.

Well crap, I didn't know that. I don't see a way to turn it off, either. I'm not sure I like that - the idea is solid, but some guys in my league have an iconic look that I don't want to see change.

You can turn off beards league-wide or adjust the relative frequencies of the various types, including disabling them, in Game --> Settings ---> Players & Facegen, (scroll down to the bottom on the right side), or you can disable them team by team on the same pages where you edit a team's logos and unis, but I don't think there's a way to freeze a certain player's beard on a certain one.

Well, you could take a screencap of the facegen and then load that as a photo (Player_Name), if you count that.

Yes, I realize all that. Been using Bobble's mod long before it was included in the game. I just feel like something that changes how your players look without your input (even if it's a minor, realistic, fixable change) should be able to be disabled with a checkbox.

I enjoy messing with my players' beards - one of my guys changes his facial hair every time he goes into a slump, and one year I created a storyline where one of my players shaved off his mustache, and the rest of the club responded by growing replicas of it. It's purely cosmetic, of course, and I really do like the idea in general - but I'd like the option to disable it.

Isn't there a way to freeze a players facegen? This keeps it from aging too IIRC. Or maybe I am thinking of a different game.

Would be ideal to have a check box to lock facial hair just as it's done for popularity.

Not all iconic facial hair lasts an entire career.

I see no changes other than some heavy shadows in the chin, jaw and upper lip area.
