I mentioned to john Dewey that one project I'll be working on will involve rating fighters whose records appeared in TS Andrews" Ring battles of the Centuries published in 1924. There are about 100 guys that were name fighters from this era that were in this record compendium that aren't in the game. They'll start appearing in this thread. I'll use some other resources as well and post some additional fighters from this era.

memoirs of Anchell Irving
published in 1974 by Vangage Press
Irving fought in the 20s as Irving Goldberg, Irish Irving Goldberg, and was pitched to the public as The Irish Jew
Raised in East New York (Brownsville) he began boxing as a pro there. Fought in Boston briefly and then moved to Cincinnati where he was managed by Biddy Bishop. I'd estimate that he had at least twice as many bouts as are listed in boxrec and base my rating on that source and his memoirs. He claimed to have begun as a pro with 2 wins and 6 draws in his first 8 bouts.
The 6 draws were against southpaws. I'm reasonably sure that the following two records in boxrec are for him

Another of Goldberg's stablemates under Bishop's management was KO Mars.
Mars is in the stock database.

I suggest changing his conditioning rating to 5 from the 1 given by the development team. Mars and Sandow were party animals and the slogan "KO Mars goes out with stars" his favorite training habit
