Deadball Era Uniforms 1901-1919
I've been working on some uniforms from the deadball era. I did a set of 1901 home jerseys last week, which can be found on Padresfan's site. And now I'm going team by team to hit some of the more interesting uniform variations from this era.
Here is a preview of what's done so far; I hope someone besides me can get some use from them and maybe I'll share the set when I'm done. |

These are great! I'm already using your 1901 set in my fake historical league. I don't think I'd be enjoying my league as much without your uni's.

Very, very nice! If you put those up somewhere, I would most certainly use them.

Oh, I've already got the 1901 jerseys, I was talking about when or if he decides to give the rest of them to PadresFan when they're finished.

I'd love to get the template for the Sox unis with the blue collar and the one with the blue stripe down the button area of the shirt if that'd be possible.
Hopefully without any logos on them. |

I'd also love to get whatever templates you used.
If you could, what fonts did you use? I'm making a historictional league, and I really want to put the team names on some of them, but don't know any good fonts for that. |

Go to chriscreamer.com and you'll find the text logos for the old teams.

I've got a collared shirt template working pretty well. It still has a small line between the outer and under shirts, but I see no 'blue' there. Thanks to the original creator for the template that I tweaked.
Can anyone tweak it to get it any better? FWIW, the 'blue' in this template is used for a shadow effect of the collar and front of the jersey. The buttons would have to be change if you don't want them showing up so much. Also, does anyone have layered pinstripes that they could put on it in a layer I can turn off or on. I'd like a larger collar, but can't seem to figure that out as of now. Thoughts? Last edited by Cooleyvol; 03-31-2007 at 06:43 PM. |

Thanks for the kind words. I'll certainly be sharing these once I'm done.
I will see if I can make some working templates for the jerseys. Also, most of the fonts and logos come from scans from various places and the, always helpful, Baseball Uniforms of the 20th Century. I will do the Highlanders and all the other teams of the era soon. As you can tell from the pic, I'm working my way up the alphabet! |

Here's your stripes in a 'layer'. And an improved collar. I probably know some people who could get us a proper collar but I'd have to look into the facegen files. Been a long time since I talked to them and I don't feel like saying "Hi, can you give me this?". We shall see.

Could I trouble you for stripes on the sleeves and possibly a striped cap layer?

I'll get you the sleeves now (how did i forget that?) but the cap will have to come tomorrow (late here). Maybe acetonic has got something already to suit you. And I see you've beaten me to the Negro Leagues...if my girlfriend's sister didn't have a baby last night, that was my next project! Argh...eh, you have a great start, they look good.
*EDIT* Refresh post above to get complete sleeve layer

I'll try and dig up a cap stripe layer or two that's usable.
In the meantime, a preview of the next batch of teams. (Including the, not yet deadly, Highlanders/Yankees) |
