Fielding Efficiency values
When viewing the team info screen, my fielding efficient is listed at .670
When I view individual stats for all of my current players, two relievers are at .514, with the next lowest value at 0.917. Are these measuring the same thing, and if not, does anyone know the difference? If they are meant to be measuring the same thing, any ideas on what the seeming discrepancy is all about? Could it just be that the team value includes players I've rotated out of the active roster that were truly bad? |

The team one is defensive efficiency. It shows what percentage of balls in play get converted to outs.
The individual one is fielding efficiency which is a combination of a few things. Someone fielding 1.000 is an average defender at his position. It can sometimes be misleading because all of the positions a player plays during the season are put together into one stat. So if someone plays 10 games out of position or somewhere where they are very bad, it makes the stat look bad even though they might be good at their ordinary spot. |
