New Patch/Update Info

"So we're going to combine the planned trading deadline data update with a patch containing all the new stuff except the match engine. It won't be out immediately on deadline day, which is March 5, since we'll need to do some testing to make sure nothing went wrong when the database is updated with the late roster moves, but it'll be very soon after that."

Full information on the new patch is here:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3645782

So there's the news. Around March 5th. Hopefully this might stop some of the pointless threads asking "when is the new patch out" and clogging up the boards!

Any word on expansion and will all the editors be turned on(the main reason that I purchased the game)?

Lots of talk about scouting but no talk as to whether or not we'll be able to turn it OFF

The game has scouts?

Kansas City Scouts?

I'm with you Orioles, I'm hoping they've been able to get the editors turned on & working properly

Fair question. There is no mention of them. I'll try asking directly see if anybody can pass you some info.

You can let the CPU handle scouting but not turn it off.

As we said earlier, we learned from the past and re-worked the way customization works in FHM. The world of Hockey (in comparison to a much easier world structure in Baseball) is so complex that "edit whatever you want" is pretty much not possible and results in a lot of possible errors. Our goal going forward is to have a great "modern day" career game first, not a bad toolkit. Before people ask: no, we do not stop to support/improve historical and fictional mode, just that we will make (unpopular for some user) decisions to make a good game for as many people as possible, not just a small (but sometimes very loud) hardcore group.

If the NHL announced tomorrow that Seattle and Las Vegas would have expansion teams for next season, how would FHM handle it?

Seems like FHM can only handle 30 team max leagues.

Well, the game starts in 2013 anyway. Jokerit next year will play in the KHL... the game has no "future" stuff, just historic

How can it handle an all fictional NHL in the future but can't handle 32 or 34 or 36 team leagues?

Not sure if I understand your question but we would add it in FHM 2015, just like OOTP, FM or any EA Sports game would do it.

I thought one of the reason's for no FHM fictional or NHL expansion was because there were no schedules available?

Fictional leagues start in 2013 anyway

It just seems like a big too do to add 2 or 4 or 6 more teams too a league when players(fictional and non-fictional) are readily available.

I thought coming up with a schedule would be a major problem.

I'm like Le Grande Orange, I'm a schedule freak. I can do schedules in my head. Don't see the problem converting it too a computer. I'm not computer saavy so maybe I'm wrong.

A lot of people want future NHL expansion and it sounds like it won't be possible.

If the NHL would add 2 teams, they would release a schedule as well.

Since FHM 2015 is released later that is not a problem.
