62 here and still dodging life's bullets. OOTP is a great help in that.

Also, and it's been mentioned many, many times before, but this forum has been a goldmine of information, learning and for the very large majority a place where constructive discussion has been the norm. Not to mention some very interesting reading.

Baseball!

Turned 55 a little over a month ago, myself.
So you were 35 when OOTP was first launched. doesn't sound old to me

Turning 61 this month. Latecomer to OOTP, however. Got OOTP18 during the World Series sale, been hooked ever since.

Except my foolish younger self wasn't at all aware of this great game.
I needed the maturity of my 50's before I clued in.
Better late than never.
Hopefully I'll still be playing the game at 95.

I'm 55 as well. I turn 56 in July. It's funny, I had pretty much moved away from playing baseball sims, when I stumbled across Season Ticket 2 at a Office Depot. I think my nephew and I bought their only 2 copies. What a find. Hoyler Jones got us hooked

44 Here. I grew up collecting baseball cards, and running seasons with handwritten stats.
I searched for a baseball game that was comparable, and played PureSim and Baseball Mogul in the past..both leaving me wanting more.
Finding OOTP (and in the past the Gambo/Spritze databases, plus the great mods) it hit all the boxes and brought me back to when I wrote out stats, and box scores. (thank god I don't have to do that anymore).

PureSim had some real potential. I still wish OOTP generated a weekly league report like the one PureSim did.

Great times

I turn 53 in July and have been playing OOTP since version 3. I also loved baseball cards and played the Statis Pro game and the sheets of box scores I would keep. I will join a geezers league!

I turn 63 later this year.... remember mlb back in the b&w TV of the day... Been playing off and on since OOTP4...Busted into online leagues in OOTP11... since 2017 been running two online leagues and are in anothe 3 to 5...

One thing I will say is when I go to update every year... I look at my product usage history which is usually around 900 to 1000 hours... its little low this year for a few month hiatus.... do the math... 40 dollars massive hours of enjoyment...

I just want to thank the OOTP Development team for giving this old disabled dude a ton of fun..

Checking in at age 58. My very first computer baseball game, I actually wrote myself in BASIC (Remember that?). No graphics, but a lot of 100-0 games! LOL!

57 here. I started on I believe it was called Cadaco All Star Baseball in the 60's. It had these rings and a spinner. I then moved to Sports Illustrated baseball All-Time All-Star charts which exposed me to the names of some of the greatest baseball players ever. I also had the 1971 season. That was one fun game.

I also played a few years in a face to face Strat-o-matic league. I cannot count the number of baseball computer games I've played over the years. From the 1980's Avalon Hill Baseball game to Tony Larussa to Microleague baseball to this great game. I believe I also played Purestat.

edit: Should also note Longball, me and my buddy who plays OOTP with me to this day played that boardgame like crazy in 1977-78.

It definitely did. But OOTP definitely has all the bells and whistles I enjoy.

I couldn’t have put it better lol. I’m 28, and needed the reminder after recently finding out I tore my ACL.

hitting 50 in a couple months here.... for baseball sims, started out with MicroLeague way back when (bought the GM disc and that huge Baseball Encyclopedia and started creating my own teams/leagues with historical players)... when those discs wore out and that game was no more, had to find something else and stumbled across OOTP (v2) with a random internet search.

mostly played historical replays for the longest time until around v15, when I first tried to tinker with the world.xml file to create a custom universe (amazingly easy once you get to know the file/etc)...

and now with PT, I'm such a nerd I got a hat with my fake team's logo on it (Waffletown Syrups) and wear that all day Sunday for as long as they are in the PT post season (though the only two times they've won it all, I've been away on vacation, so maybe I need to rethink my strategy).
