Swiss name set

Important:This set will only work with Dogzilla's Complete World Names Database

This project was a lot trickier that I initially thought - for those of you who don't know it: Switzerland has a German region, a French region and an Italian region - and these regions use their respective names that normally don't get mixed, so you usually won't have i. e. French first names and Italian last names.
I decided to mainly go with German names with enough "foreign" names to make this a good name set.

The set contains 401 first names and 4,090 last names.
extracted from a list of the Swiss Post and I left enough "exotic" names in it that there will be enough variety.

Like Germany Switzerland uses "Umlaute" like ä, ö and ü - I have no idea if these are displayed correctly on your computer

So there are two sets each - the files "umlaute" includes ä, ö and ü, the other files have ae, oe and ue

I hope you like them

I thought the Swiss didn't use the scharfes S, in contrast to the Germans and Austrians. Was I misinformed?

EDIT: Also this:

Only because you have given this the designation of nameset 97. A quick edit would make this nameset usable by everyone!

Honestly, I'm note sure and was too lazy to check - in the "Umlaute"-file there is no "scharfes S" but I didn't want to claim that they don't use it

Agreed, I just wanted to make sure that you can't just paste it into the existing name-files and expect it to work. Dogzilla gave the Swiss name set No. 97 and since I'm using his Complete World Names Database there was no reason to change it

The Austrian name file will follow within the next few days

I researched this and edited the initial post - the "scharfe s" is not used by the Swiss.

Good find

The Swiss don't really speak German, so it doesn't matter if they follow the rules or not

It's such a good set that I wouldn't want anyone who doesn't use Dogzilla's database to think "gee, I wish I could use Germaniac's nameset, but I guess I can't." Instead of saying that it only works with Dogzilla's world database, I'd say that it's optimized for Dogzilla's files. That's called "marketing"
