Regardless, it's good to see the Reapers here either way, even if they are rebranded not 'new'. Gives it some freshness. The pace of change is still to my liking.

Agreed. Maybe the new look can surprise the old guard!

The County Crossing Bloodbugs started the Association Semifinal in style today, winning on the road against the Easy Town Assaultrons at Easy Town Field by a score of 9-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Bloodbugs right-hander Gavin Eviritts threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball.

Eviritts, the County Crossing right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. He collected 7 strikeouts.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Eviritts.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Bloodbugs Hammered by Samuels, Drop Game 2 to Assaultrons

Samuels went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once at Easy Town Field to help Easy Town force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

In the bottom of the fourth, Easy Town third baseman Dog Prairie had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Prairie stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 8-4, Easy Town. For the game, he went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It was a solid team effort," said Samuels after the game.

Assaultrons right fielder Dan Squirrel went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win gives the Assaultrons a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Squirrel had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fifth for the Assaultrons. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Easy Town trailing 2-1, he hit a 3-run home run.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Squirrel.

Game 4: County Crossing 5, Easy Town 4, 13 inn.

Assaultrons Hammered by Kilgore, Drop Game 4 to Bloodbugs

The County Crossing Bloodbugs and the Easy Town Assaultrons will take the Association Semifinal to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation at Beantown Brewery Stadium today, the Bloodbugs beat the Assaultrons 5-4 on a walk-off in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. County Crossing left fielder Kurt Kilgore went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when County Crossing second baseman Matt Stoops, facing Aaron Geneva, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bloodbugs the 5-4 win.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Kilgore told reporters after the game.

Easy Town entered the bottom of the 13th up by one after Dan Squirrel's solo home run in the top of the inning. With Aaron Geneva on the mound, the Assaultrons were looking to end the game and series. However, Kurt Kilgore and Taygun Topaloglu led off with back-to-back singles. Then, Jimjames LaFleur hit a game-tying RBI double, which put Topaloglu as the winning run on third base with no outs. Stoops then knocked him in to force a Game 5.

Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 5: County Crossing 11, Easy Town 2

County Crossing Takes Association Semifinal in Deciding Game

It took a while, but the County Crossing Bloodbugs finally disposed of the Easy Town Assaultrons 11-2 in the series clincher at Easy Town Field.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to County Crossing shortstop Cy Thompson. He batted .375 in the series, collecting 5 RBIs and scoring 6 runs.

Road Win Lifts Nordhagen Beach to 1-0 Lead in ASF

Beachboy Nut and the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys opened the Association Semifinal in brilliant fashion today, traveling to Sunshine Tidings and shutting out the host Chemists at ArcJet Systems Stadium 2-0 to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Nut, the Party Boys left-hander, threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball.

In his 105-pitch effort, Nut allowed no runs on 1 hit over 9 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 6.

"Beachboy made his pitches," said Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at ArcJet Systems Stadium in Sunshine Tidings.

Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 6, Sunshine Tidings 5

Angelou, Party Boys Sink Chemists Again in Game 2

Riding the 2-hit performance of right fielder Jonathan Angelou, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a road win against the Sunshine Tidings Chemists, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal today. Angelou was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-5 series, 2 games to 0.

The outcome might have been different had it not been for Angelou. In the top of the eighth inning, when the Party Boys were trailing 4-3, Angelou delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Nordhagen Beach, giving his team the lead.

Chemists manager Ray Pratt did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Sole Survivor Series."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 26th , 2307 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 5, Sunshine Tidings 1

Party Boys Heading to Association Championship

Depending on your loyalties, the Association Semifinal was either a lot of fun or a lot of frustration.

There wasn't much of a fight put up, with the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys taking a drama-free, 3-0 sweep of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists.

"We're in good shape going into the Association Championship," said Nordhagen Beach pitcher Beachboy Nut, after his team won the final game by a 5-1 count. "If we play like this going forward, we'll definitely win the Sole Survivor Series."

Nut earned series MVP honors, with a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Easy Town Assaultrons - County Crossing Bloodbugs series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes.Nut earned series MVP honors, with a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.

Red Rockets third baseman Hazmatt Zuniga excelled. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4.

Jamaica Plain relied on the hitting of Damani Beebe to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Rockets on top, 7-6. For the game, Beebe had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Beebe.

Red Rockets right-hander Dobbie Radoncis had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Red Rockets a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.

Carney Cornseed, the slugging first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cornseed contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put Jamaica Plain up, 7-1.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cornseed.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 3: Jamaica Plain 8, University Point 5

Jamaica Plain Sweeps into the Association Championship

Hazmatt Zuniga said he expected the Association Semifinal to be "a battle from start to finish."

In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets encountered little resistance in sweeping the University Point Deathclaws, to advance to the Association Championship.

"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Zuniga.

2307 CBO Playoffs

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

30 September 2307

CBO Playoff Tree

CBO Playoff Association Championship Series Preview

NCA Playoffs - #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs (64-56) vs #3 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (74-46)

Season Series

County Crossing 8, Nordhagen Beach 4
May 3-5 @NB - NB 3-2, NB 4-3, CC 11-5
July 26-28 @CC - CC 8-3, CC 5-2, NB 3-2
August 2-4 @ NB - CC 5-4, CC 9-6, CC 8-5
August 9-11 @CC - CC 4-3, CC 4-2, NB 8-5

Analysis

Since County Crossing emerged as a good team in 2301, this has proven to be an exciting yet bitter rivalry. Both the Bloodbugs and Party Boys have had a lot of success in the regular season, but they only have each won two Sole Survivor Series. Still, these two teams have been to the Sole Survivor Series the past three seasons and five of the past six, indicating consistency in playoff success.

During the regular season, the Bugs seemed to have all the advantages, winning 8 of 12. Their season series in Nordhagen Beach from August 2-4 was a 35-inning affair with all three games going to extra innings. On the season, the two teams played five extra-inning games with the Bloodbugs winning all five. That means that these teams are going to give us a show.

In the playoffs, County Crossing and the Party Boys have played four times, including the past three seasons with each team winning two series apiece. This is the fourth time they will face off for the right to represent the NCA in the Sole Survivor Series. The four previous matchups:
2301 NCA CS - #1 Nordhagen Beach 4, #3 County Crossing 0
2304 NCA CS - #1 County Crossing 4, #3 Nordhagen Beach 1
2305 NCS CS - #2 Nordhagen Beach 4, #5 County Crossing 3
2306 NCA Semifinals - #1 County Crossing 3, #5 Nordhagen Beach 0

In looking at the matchup, County Crossing has the hitting advantage, while Nordhagen Beach has the pitching advantage. However, if games are tight late, the Bloodbugs seem to have all the advantages in late pitching. The Party Boys will need to get way ahead early and then hold on to take this series.

Prediction

County Crossing is the defending champions. However, Nordhagen Beach is not the team that usually needs to be trifled with. We are having a hard time in this series in deciding anything beyond a tough match. In other words, we are not as sure who will win this series as much as we do in the SCA. With that said, the Bloodbugs handled this series last season on their way to the championship and had the best of the Boys in the regular season. We are going to pick them to take it. County Crossing 4, Nordhagen Beach 3.

SCA Playoffs - #3 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (66-54) vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox (81-39)

Season Series

Roxbury 5, Jamaica Plain 3
April 27-28 @JP - JP 5-4, Rox 7-5
May 21-22 @Rox - Rox 3-2, Rox 5-1
August 13-14 @JP - Rox 8-4, JP 6-5
August 20-21 @Rox - Rox 8-1, JP 12-8

Analysis

In their seventh playoff trip, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets are still seeking their first trip to the Sole Survivor Series. The Rockets have been to the SCA Championship Series twice (2302, 2304), falling a game short each time. Meanwhile, the Roxbury Rad Sox are in their sixth season making the playoffs, making the Sole Survivor Series in 3 of their 5 seasons in the playoffs, including last season when they lost their only SSS. They did win twice before (2303 + 2304), and they are the odds-on favorites to win their third this season.

Despite both teams being playoffs regulars since 2302, they have only met twice before. The higher-seeded team won each time, with both series going the distance. Their previous matchups.
2302 SCA Semifinals - #2 Jamaica Plain 3, #3 Roxbury 2
2304 SCA CS - #1 Roxbury 4, #2 Jamaica Plain 3

In the regular season, the Rad Sox also had a slight advantage of winning 5 of 8 but all games were relatively tight with only one lopsided result (Roxbury's 8-1 win on August 20).

Both teams are minus a starter in 3B Peter Tatoeater (.223/16/60) of the Rockets and RF Deerlord Fugivmee (.337/6/47/14SB) of the Sox. However, both of their replacements--Hazmatt Zuniga (.299/11/33) and Sum Downie (.260/24/78)--have been viable. In the end, we think that Roxbury has the overall advantage in both the lineups and pitching matchups.

Prediction

We thought that the Rad Sox might struggle a bit as they did for most of the second half of the season. Then they scored 32 runs in just three games against Spectacle Island in the Semifinal Round. The Red Rockets did not come far behind, out-offensing the CBO's top offense by outscoring them 26-12 in their three-game set. We're not sure we'll see as many runs this series, but we do expect to see some thrills. In the end, we're riding the Sox train the rest of the way. Roxbury 4, Jamaica Plain 2.

MML Analysis

SP Quentin Malone Call It Quits

The 12th overall pick in the 2296 Inaugural Draft, SP Quentin Malone was a staple of the CBO from 2296-2306. This past season, he spent the entirety of the season with Jamaica Plain's MML team, the Needham Archers where he went 6-9 with a 5.03 ERA in 25 starts. Following the season, he decided it was time to move on.

In his 11 seasons in the CBO, Malone played with University Point, Easy Town, Vault 81, and Easy Town. He compiled a career record of 111-100 with a 4.11 ERA. In the full CBO, he fell two wins short of 100. His 98 wins ranks him as tied for 19th all time. Only 17 players have reached 100 wins since the full CBO began in 2298.

Malone was a three-time all-star, including his final season in the CBO in 2306 with the Red Rockets where he finished 8-4 with a 3.30 ERA in 25 games with 13 starts. He won 10 or more games six times.

BMU Award Winners

CA Hitter - Jacob Tarberry took Boston Minor Union by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 18.

For his spectacular campaign, the Brockton Irish star has been named the 2307 Commonwealth Association Medford Memorial Hitter Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the third baseman.

On the season he compiled a .384 batting average to go with a .462 on-base percentage. The native of Easthampton, Massachusetts also added 19 doubles, 1 triple, 57 home runs, 138 RBIs and 103 runs scored.

He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Family Sam Partridge of the Sanctuary Hills Zetans finished second in voting, while Zero Nought of the Greentop Nursery Night People finished third.

Jordan Raiderson - Walden Pond Poets - 0 - 2

MA Hitter - At the age of 18, Gavin Deux-Gas of the Mass Pike Radroaches could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2307 was good enough to win the shortstop the Massachusetts Association Medford Memorial Hitter Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .378 batting average this year, as well as a .474 on-base percentage. He played 62 games and racked up 94 hits, 12 doubles, 4 triples, 18 home runs, 65 RBIs and 65 runs scored.

He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 24. Trey Lickrock of the Worcester Cannons finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Chin Chin Chickerling of the Charles View Cannibals finished third with 3 first place votes.

Party Boys center fielder Maxx Murtagh had a standout performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3.

The Party Boys took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Facing County Crossing hurler Gavin Eviritts with one out, Murtagh hit a 2-run home run.

"What we get, we earn," Murtagh told the Nordhagen Beach Citizen.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 2: County Crossing 9, Nordhagen Beach 7, 10 inn.

Bloodbugs Even With Party Boys After Extra-Innings Win

In a crucial game, the County Crossing Bloodbugs put on their best show, beating the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys by a final score of 9-7 today. Cy Thompson went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. County Crossing and Nordhagen Beach are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

In the top of the tenth, Thompson hit a tie-breaking 2-run home run to help the Bloodbugs capture the win.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said County Crossing skipper Crow Guai.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 1, County Crossing 0

Road Win Lifts Nordhagen Beach to 2-1 Lead in ACS
Ugio Church pitched a gem to help the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys escape with a tight 1-0 victory over the County Crossing Bloodbugs in a low-scoring Association Championship contest today. The left-handed Church threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Party Boys on a day when their offense dried up. Nordhagen Beach now leads the best-of-7 series 2-1.

Church, who was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, threw 126 pitches over 8.1 innings, while allowing no runs.

Church called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 12, County Crossing 8

Almost There: Nordhagen Beach On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 12-8 Win

With left fielder Michael Fogcrawler leading the charge, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a road win over the County Crossing Bloodbugs, 12-8, in Game 4 of the Association Championship today. Fogcrawler was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 at Beantown Brewery Stadium to help Nordhagen Beach take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The Party Boys took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Facing County Crossing hurler Gavin Eviritts with two outs, Fogcrawler hit a 2-run home run.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Fogcrawler told the Nordhagen Beach Citizen.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 5: Nordhagen Beach 7, County Crossing 6

Party Boys Advance to Sole Survivor Series

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are bound for the Sole Survivor Series.

A 7-6 win over the County Crossing Bloodbugs at Beantown Brewery Stadium ended the Association Championship, 4-1.

"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Pipe Wallcrawler. "This could be the biggest celebration Nordhagen Beach has ever seen if we can win the Sole Survivor Series."

Entering the top of the 4th with a 3-0 lead, the Boys broke the game open with four runs. Between County Crossing starter Matt Hope and reliever Drama Miller, they walked three batters and allowed three hits for the big inning. Michael Fogcrawler hit a two-RBI single to provide the final two runs for a 7-0 lead.

The state of the Commonwealth Baseball Organization championship remains in doubt, but the Party Boys certainly appear to be strong contenders.

Wallcrawler was named MVP of the Association Championship after he posted a .458 batting average, while adding 1 home runs, driving in 3 RBI and scoring 6 runs.

A dejected Crow Guai, manager for County Crossing, weighed in at the end of the game. "I guess we had to take four games to extra innings to win this series. That's the only way we could beat them."

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Roxbury Rad Sox - Jamaica Plain Red Rockets series. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes.

#1 Roxbury vs #3 Jamaica Plain

Game 1: Roxbury 5, Jamaica Plain 2

Home Field Advantage: Goodman, Roxbury Open Association Championship with Win

The Roxbury Rad Sox started the Association Championship in style today, downing the visiting Jamaica Plain Red Rockets at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 5-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rad Sox left fielder Young Goodman hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice.

Goodman had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the first for the Rad Sox. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Roxbury trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Goodman.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 2: Roxbury 10, Jamaica Plain 8

Rad Sox Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 2-0

Despite a great performance by Jamaica Plain shortstop Jake Doucette, the Roxbury Rad Sox defeated the Red Rockets by the score of 10-8 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury today. Doucette went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 5, but he could not prevent the Rad Sox from moving one game closer to the Sole Survivor Series. Roxbury now leads the Association Championship 2-0.

Had Biddy Swenson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Swenson hit a 2-run double. That made the score 10-8, in favor of the Rad Sox.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Swenson.

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 3: Jamaica Plain 8, Roxbury 3

Jamaica Plain Breaks Through for First Win in Association Championship; Now Trails 2-1

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Roxbury Rad Sox, winning 8-3 at Red Rockets Stadium today. Red Rockets left-hander Tim Fusion threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Red Rockets to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Association Championship.

Hazmatt Zuniga dealt the Rad Sox a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Jamaica Plain leading 1-0, Zuniga, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2301 draft, hit a 2-1 cutter for a 3-run home run.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Zuniga.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 4: Roxbury 8, Jamaica Plain 5

Almost There: Roxbury On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 8-5 Win

Riding the 3-hit performance of right fielder Sum Downie, the Roxbury Rad Sox got a road win against the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets, 8-5, in Game 4 of the Association Championship today. Downie went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Rad Sox, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fifth when Downie hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Rad Sox into the lead, 3-2.

"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Roxbury manager Coffee Kupp told reporters.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain.

Game 5: Jamaica Plain 2, Roxbury 1

Jamaica Plain Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2

Already down in the Association Championship, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 2-1 today. Dobbie Radoncis was special. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Jamaica Plain now trails Roxbury 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Bulleye Shooterson barreled up a cutter from Urm Rehfeldt. The result was a solo home run, putting the Red Rockets in front, 2-0.

Radoncis said his team "played with determination."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 7th , 2307 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 6: Roxbury 3, Jamaica Plain 2, 10 inn.

Rad Sox Move on to Sole Survivor Series

The Association Championship didn't live up to the billing from those who thought it would be an all-out battle to the last game.

But the Roxbury Rad Sox are no doubt pleased by the results, as they have knocked out the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets 4-2 to advance to the Sole Survivor Series.

"It doesn't matter how you win it, as long as you win it and get yourself moving forward," said Rad Sox left fielder Young Goodman. "I know a lot of people thought this was going to be a really tight series the whole way through, but we're glad it didn't go right down to the wire."

Roxbury won the final game by a score of 3-2 in an extra inning at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. The winning run came in the bottom of the 10th. With Chris Deathclaw on the mound, Chris Connexx singled to lead off and advanced to third on Biddy Swenson's double. Pinch hitter Tut Campbell then hit the series-winning walk-off single to send Roxbury to the Sole Survivor Series. Campbell only had 13 hits during the regular season.

"I tried to pretend it was no pressure," Campbell said. "It was a lot of pressure."

Goodman was named series MVP after hitting .360 with a .407 on-base percentage. He also had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Roxbury Rad Sox will play against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in the next round. Nordhagen Beach won their series against the County Crossing Bloodbugs 4 games to 1. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes.

CBO Playoff Tree

#3 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (74-46) vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox (81-39)

Season Series

Roxbury 1, Nordhagen Beach 0
April 13 @ NB: Rox 8, NB 5

Analysis

These two teams have now combined to appear in 8 of the 12 Sole Survivor Series. However, this marks the first season that they will meet in the biggest series in the Commonwealth. Nordhagen Beach is 1-3 in SSS appearances, while Roxbury is 2-1.

The Party Boys are good at making the SSS, but they have struggled in most of their appearances here, matching Fort Hagen for the most SSS series losses. Should they lose, they will have gone 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the full CBO.

The Rad Sox are now in their 4th SSS in the past five seasons. Should they win their third SSS, they would surpass Diamond City for the most championships and will by far be the most dominant team in the first 10 seasons of the full CBO.

Overall, these are the statistical matchups:

In the expected lineup vs lineup matches, Roxbury seems to have most of the advantages, except maybe the pitching matchups in non-Laloosh vs Nut matchups.

In terms of talent, the Sox seem to have most of the advantages, which appears to make them the favorites in the series. However, the Boys seem to have the most balance throughout their lineup.

In the pitcher vs pitcher matchups, we see it this way:

Games 1, 4, 7 starters - SP Beach Boy Nut (13-4, 3.48) < SP Nuka Laloosh (13-2, 2.99)
Games 2, 5 starters - SP Deedee Martinson (14-3, 3.35) > SP Urm Rehfeldt (12-5, 3.93)
Games 3, 6 starters - SP Ugio Church (9-11, 3.61) > SP Chet Arthur (15-9, 4.09)
Closers - CL David "AntAgonist" Kidd (34 SV, 4.11) < CL Andy Helium (37 SV, 2.69)
Best RP 1 - SP Tommy Beach (14-7, 3.98) > RP Justin Hale (6-6, 6.06)
Best RP 2 - RP Austen Austin (3-2, 3.34) > SP Whokill Poole (13-7, 5.51)

Prediction

Roxbury started this season looking as though they would be the best ever. They let the rest of the pack come back, but the Sox have turned the burners back on for the playoffs. For the Party Boys, they were good and belong here, dominating both Sunshine Tidings and County Crossing in the playoffs. For this first time matchup, though, the Sox seem to have the advantages they need to claim the 2307 title. Roxbury 4, Nordhagen Beach 2.

Sole Survivor Series - Games 1 and 2

Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 9, Roxbury 8, 12 inn.

Angelou Blasts Rad Sox, Party Boys Take Game 1, 9-8
When the games really matter, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 9-8 today. Jonathan Angelou was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Nordhagen Beach now leads Roxbury 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Bryan Assman came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Roxbury pitcher Whokill Poole, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a solo home run. It was a game-changer, putting Nordhagen Beach on top, 9-8.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 7, Roxbury 2

Nordhagen Beach Tops Roxbury Again, 7-2
Starter Deedee Martinson was sensational for the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in his team's 7-2 triumph over the Roxbury Rad Sox in Game 2 of the Sole Survivor Series today. Martinson pitched well, but Nordhagen Beach picked up the win to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Rad Sox had trouble solving Martinson, who surrendered 2 runs on 5 hits over 9 innings.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Martinson said.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 12th , 2307 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Sole Survivor Series - Games 3, 4, and 5

Game 3: Roxbury 6, Nordhagen Beach 1

Roxbury Breaks Through for First Win in Sole Survivor Series; Now Trails 2-1

Leave it to the veteran.

The Roxbury Rad Sox got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Chet Arthur, as Roxbury took the 6-1 win at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium over the series-leading Nordhagen Beach Party Boys. Arthur threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball and helped Roxbury close their deficit to 2 games to 1 in the best-of-7 series.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Purple Gupta was at the plate when Roxbury scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Rad Sox to go in front, 2-1.

Arthur called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 5, Roxbury 1

Almost There: Nordhagen Beach On Cusp of Sole Survivor Series Triumph After 5-1 Win

Riding the 2-hit performance of left fielder Michael Fogcrawler, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys stopped the visiting Roxbury Rad Sox, 5-1, in Game 4 of the Sole Survivor Series today. Fogcrawler was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

In the bottom of the first, Fogcrawler had one of his most important at-bats: a 3-run home run off Nuke Laloosh that staked the Party Boys to a 3-0 lead.

Fogcrawler called the win "a collective effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 5: Nordhagen Beach 4, Roxbury 1

Party Boys Top Rad Sox in Sole Survivor Series

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys were good enough to get past the Roxbury Rad Sox at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium today and secure the 2nd championship in franchise history.

"When you wear Party Boys on your shirt, you're good at something," Nordhagen Beach skipper Zach Toth told the press.

The new champions capped off a great season with a 4-1 victory over the Rad Sox to win the Sole Survivor Series 4-1. The Boys' Deedee Martinson won his second game of the series, allowing just one earned run on three hits with eight strikeouts in 8.0 innings. The sole run he allowed was an 8th-inning home run by Roxbury's Biddy Swenson.

Biter Trout was 2 for 4 with a home run, a run, and two RBI. David "AntAgonist" Kidd pitched the 9th for the save, his fifth of the postseason and only save in the SSS.

Party Boys first baseman Bryan Assman was named MVP of the series after he went .333 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI. He added two hits and two RBI in Game 5 with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the 8th to help put the Sox away.

"It feels totally incredible," Assman said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment. Nobody wanted me for awhile after injuries wrecked my career. This feels like I can caravan off into the sunset and feel the euphoria of victory."

2307 Offseason

BNN Report

News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

1 November 2307

The November Super Post

CBO at Ten

We have now completed 10 seasons of the full CBO, and we hope to have many more to go. More and more of the original 648 players drafted have moved on from being players to active coaches in the CBO or contributing members of the Commonwealth.

With the newest champions, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, crowned, the CBO now prepares for its 12th total offseason where teams will make moves to improve their teams and draft players they hope can contribute sooner than later.

There are even more changes coming in the CBO, including a few relocations, rebrandings, and additions. We are featuring the biggest announcement today, but look for a few more changes as 2307 comes to an end and 2308 begins.

Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference Formed

A new chapter in collegiate sports is set to begin as the Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference (BCAC) will make its debut in 2308. Uniting eight institutions in a celebration of athletic prowess and academic excellence, the BCAA will usher in a new era of inter-university competition.

From the hallowed halls and historic campuses of the C.I.T. Engineers and Harvard University Crimson to the dynamic community of the Commonwealth University Terriers, each team brings a vibrant history and a passionate following to the league. In the Northern Division, the Tufts University Jumbos and Bunker Hill University Globalists join C.I.T. and Harvard. The Southern Division boasts the Boston College Eagles, University Point's Mass Bay University Beacons, the Northeastern Huskies, and Commonwealth University.

The league's formation, led by the efforts of Lexington owner Trashcan Carla, has been met with widespread excitement, with teams eager to don their colors and represent their alma mater. Commissioner Nate Howard of the CBO has endorsed the BCAC, highlighting the importance of athletic events in fostering community and collaboration: "The Bee-Cack [BCAC] is a testament to the spirit of the Commonwealth, and the CBO is thrilled to support this venture. We look forward to seasons filled with competition, character, and camaraderie."

The BCAC teams are set to commence competition in the 2308 season, with an 86-game schedule that promises thrilling matchups and new rivalries. With the backing of the CBO and the passion of countless students and future alumni, the BCAC is poised to become a beloved institution in the Commonwealth's sporting landscape.

The participating universities are not just centers of academic learning; they are custodians of deep historical roots that reflect the Commonwealth's storied past. All eight universities were pre-War institutions in the Boston area that have been replenished since Howard helped to free the Commonwealth in the late 2280s.

BNN Report

Goodneighbor Selects Treelover with First Pick

The 2307 draft was an exciting one with 360 youth players selected in the 2307 Rookie Draft. From the first pick of SP Clubhouse Treelover out of Weymouth to the last pick of 2B Constantius Tituleius out of Eastham, the rookies are ready to report and show they can one day contribute to the success of their franchise.

According to OSA scouts, there were no true surprise picks in the 1st round with all 24 players considered to be sufficient for the round.

Here's a look at the Top 10 picks:

1. Goodneighbor Hancocks: Drafted SP Clubhouse Treelover in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 1, 1st overall pick).
2. Concord Radstags: Drafted CF Duff Fee in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 2, 2nd overall pick).
3. Lexington Synths: Drafted LF Gorgeous George Davis in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 3, 3rd overall pick).
4. Fort Hagen Silver Shroud: Drafted SP Sarthis Idren in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 4, 4th overall pick).
5. The Slog Ghouls: Drafted RF Cypher Raige in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 5, 5th overall pick).
6. FHE Yao Guai: Drafted 1B Malyn Varen in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 6, 6th overall pick).
7. Nahant Celtics: Drafted SP Nervous Patron in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 7, 7th overall pick).
8. Diamond City Swatters: Drafted 1B Brunwulf Freewinter in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 8, 8th overall pick).
9. Egret Ninjas: Drafted 1B Dickie Greenleaf in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 9, 9th overall pick).
10. Salem Witch Hats: Drafted LF Castor Puzzlemaker in the 2307 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 10, 10th overall pick).

The complete draft is at the end of this article.

Breakdown

Here's a breakdown of OSA's top picks as well as the potential steals of the draft:

1-1 SP Clubhouse Treelover, Goodneighbor
Scouts: The lanky lefty with six pitches and a great command, Treelover is expected to be a guaranteed pitching prospect on the top half of a rotation. His arm has gotten stronger by year with the Locksmiths, starting in hs freshman year with a 92-94 fastball and ending with a 96-98 fastball. Left-handed hitters will do nothing against him.

Overview: A true competitor, Treelover is not ready to make his debut in the CBO, but he should impress with his coachability, work ethic, and smarts. He should be able to develop all six pitches with his changeup and curveball judged to have the most impact.

1-2 CF Duff Fee, Concord
Scouts: Considered to be a pure hitter, with scouts loving his naturally smooth swing. Expected to be a high average hitter with a good amount of pop in his bat. Great with the glove and fast, too, meaning he will give opponents fits.

Overview: Fee has a great work ethic that could help him climb the ranks fast. Defensively, he could be a starter already, and he might even be able to contribute with the bat at the bottom of the lineup. If he is allowed to develop, Fee could be an eliter CF in the CBO.

1-3 LF Gorgeous George Davis, Lexington
Scouts: Played only one year of competitive baseball. Not the best defender but could be decent at a corner OF spot. Smart guy who tries to work through his struggles. Has potential to be a high average-high homers hitter in the middle of a lineup.

Overview: A true potential pick, it is a little surprising he went this early, but Davis is most certainly worth a high pick. In his sole season with Sandwich, he batted ,336 with 25 home runs and 72 RBI, showing he could be a beast if he develops fully.

1-4 SP Sarthis Idren, Fort Hagen
Scouts: Fills a need for the Silver Shroud franchise. Will not be in the CBO anytime soon, but has a lot of potential. Has been criticized by coaches for not knowing when to stop, which could lead to strain on his throwing arm. Also a six-pitch pitcher with expected development mostly coming in the form of a cutter, slider, and changeup.

Overview:

1-5 RF Cypher Raige, The Slog
Scouts: Originally picked as the #1 pick in the mock draft, Raige is the top leader at the top of draft prospects. May need a lot of development before he is star quality but does know how to handle himself in the batter's box. Waits for his pitch and does a good job of making contact and driving the pitch. May not be a true slugger but could rack up a healthy number of homers. Not much defensively so will probably be stuck in a corner OF spot.

Overview: Scouts are a bit torn on Raige with some stating he will be the best player to come out of this draft and others wondering if he will be nothing more than a contributor. He certainly had a great youth league career with Fraternal Post 115, batting .368 with 83 home runs and 251 RBI in fours seasons.

1-6 1B Malyn Varen, FHE
Scouts: Lots of talent but the firs player at the top where scouts question his commitment to the game. Seems to get bored with practice and has been vocal that he could be the best anywhere on the field if given a shot. Some compare his approach to the plate as similar to Barker Cocoa's. He will wait for the right pitch and then murder it. He is unlikely to swing at anything out of the strike zone.

Overview: Varen emerged in 2307 with 23 home runs. He could continue to make those numbers rise if he learns how to adjust to more advanced pitching.

1-7 SP Nervous Patron, Nahant
Scouts: Not as much variety in pitching as Treelover and Idren but very good with his three-pitch repertoire. Has a strong fast ball near 100 MPH. When his fastball and slider are working, he is tough to touch. Scouts see him as having ace potential if properly developed.

Overview: Patron was asked to experiment with his pitches a little more in 2307. While his strikeout numbers went up, he also saw his ERA and WHIP climb. Nahant will have to work him right to help him to develop to that stud pitching they want from him.

1-8 1B Brunwulf Freewinter, Diamond City
Scouts: Not the most certain of decision makers. Needs coaches to tell him where to line up and when to take. A bit of a free swinger but at least gets the ball on the bat a lot. Expected to be a power hitter who could develop into a good all around hitter if he becomes more patient. Nothing to write home about on defense.

Overview: Freewinter is another high potential players but he could also be a bust if he doesn't adapt to his new environment.

1-9 1B Dickie Greenleaf, Egret
Scouts: Some scouts see him as a "me first" player who needs to learn how to be a part of the machine on the field. Will often try to call off his CF when playing LF. While he has good range for tracking down balls in LCF, he is often not the person who should be calling the ball, leading to multiple errors in his youth league career with Stoneham.

Overview: Could be a good pro if he is converted to 1B. Has lots of promise to be a decent all-around hitter who could also swipe a few bases.

1-10 LF Castor Puzzlemaker, Salem
Scouts: Student of the game. Takes coaching seriously. Better off being on a good team where he has support all around him. However, still has the potential to find himself in the middle of the lineup. Not great on defense, so that part of this game needs work.

Overview: Puzzlemaker has a lot of potential to be a strong home run hitter. Had a lot of success with Harwich, especially with pitches right down the plate.

2-13 LF Johnny Maize, Bunker Hill
Scouts: Could have been a 1st-round pick but did not show a lot of confidence in his pre-draft workouts. Answered the call in his one season in competitive baseball, batting .344 with 14 home runs and 52 RBI with East Providence. Could develop into a true power hitter once his frame starts to fill out more.

Overview: A potentials pick but probably could hit a double-digit number of homers in the CBO right now. Will be a scary player to face in the future for pitchers.

3-12 LF Radx Roberts, Atom
Scouts: Petitioned to enter draft after just two seasons with Chatham. Injuries in 2307 derailed him, leading to starting only 12 games. Could have been a 1st-round pick if he were to come out at 18. Good fastball hitter. Needs work on off-speed pitching. Needs a lot of coaching to succeed.

Overview: Another player scouts are torn on with some rating him as a 1st-round prospect now despite barely playing and hitting only .172 in 2307.

4-22 3B Kesh Clean, Easy Town
Scouts: Not as naturally talented as some of the other players in the draft. Will be a prospect pick where the Assaultrons staff will need to teach him how to maximize his swing. Has lots of power potential but never learned how to hit homers with Harwich. Hit only 11 homers in four seasons.

Overview: There are not high expectations for Clean. He could develop into a power hitter, or fail at that and fade away.

5-1 LF Izdere Lifunn-Mars, Roxbury
Scouts: Consistently improved throughout his time with Wellesley but was never given much of a look as a high pick. Interesting pick by Roxbury to take him on since he may have a direct path to playing 1B for the Sox. Lots of power potential with a decent amount of contact potential.

Overview: Lifunn-Mars may be entering the best situation for a mid pick. Should coaches help him to develop, he could see himself batting in the middle of the Roxbury order by his 21st birthday. Needs to set goals of improvement to get there, but can do it.

Return to 2297 Rookie Draft

The 2297 Rookie Draft marked the first that would be a part of the full CBO where all leagues combined into a single organization for all purposes. Let's take a look at that outstanding draft from 10 years ago with an emphasis on the 1st round and top picks from Rounds 2-5.

Round 1
Round 1, Pick 1 - Diamond City Swatters: 1B Oren Gep, age 19
Round 1, Pick 2 - Jamaica Plain Red Rockets: SP Digger Vadim, age 19
Round 1, Pick 3 - Atom Cats: SS Jake Doucette, age 19
Round 1, Pick 4 - Egret Scrappers: 3B Dog Prairie, age 19
Round 1, Pick 5 - County Crossing Bloodbugs: SP Dobbie Radoncis, age 19
Round 1, Pick 6 - Concord Radstags: 1B Babs Rooth, age 18
Round 1, Pick 7 - University Point Deathclaws: 3B Blue Beak, age 19
Round 1, Pick 8 - Starlight Lady Killers: C Chris Dominoes, age 18
Round 1, Pick 9 - Abernathy Adamantium: SP Mike Rubric, age 20
Round 1, Pick 10 - Finch Farm Four Leafs: 2B Signal Frummy, age 19
Round 1, Pick 11 - Vault 81 Dwellers: SP Emperry Alizm, age 18
Round 1, Pick 12 - Salem Witch Hats: SP Ugio Church, age 19
Round 1, Pick 13 - Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers: CF Tevin MacPhail, age 19
Round 1, Pick 14 - Sunshine Tidings Chemists: RF Bat Savelli, age 19
Round 1, Pick 15 - Easy Town Assaultrons: 2B Aaron Sinn, age 19
Round 1, Pick 16 - Fort Hagen Silver Shroud: CF Organizae Brown, age 18
Round 1, Pick 17 - Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai: CF Any Why, age 19
Round 1, Pick 18 - Nordhagen Beach Party Boys: 3B Er Temptation, age 18
Round 1, Pick 19 - Warwick Mirelurks: LF Kern Rifleman, age 19
Round 1, Pick 20 - Quincy Gunners: SS Biggie Biggs, age 19
Round 1, Pick 21 - The Slog Ghouls: SP Mike Koenig, age 19
Round 1, Pick 22 - Lexington Synths: 2B Cream Melton, age 20
Round 1, Pick 23 - Goodneighbor Hancocks: SP Jesse Fraud, age 19
Round 1, Pick 24 - Oberland T-51s: 2B Harry Byrd, age 18

In the 1st round, 23 of 24 players appeared in the CBO. Lexington's pick at #22, Cream Melton, was the only player not to make it to the CBO. However, currently with the Oberland franchise, he has a lifetime minor league career batting average of .325 with 49 home runs, 236 RBI, 368 runs, and 187 stolen bases. He won the 2307 MML LL Platinum Stick Award at 2B and was the 2304 CA Championship Series MVP.

Five of the first six picks have all been studs, combining for 26 CBO All-Star Game appearances: Gep (7), Vadim (3), Doucette (4), Priairie (6), and Rooth (6). Other top picks in the 1st round are Church (2) and Byrd (5).

Round 2
Round 2, Pick 7 - University Point Deathclaws: RF Barker Cocoa, age 19
Round 2, Pick 9 - Abernathy Adamantium: CF Deerlord Fugivmee, age 18

Both Cocoa and Fugivmee have turned out to be great picks with Cocoa looking to be a sure-fire Hall of Famer when the CBO opens that up (Howard mentioned the 25th anniversary of the league being a good time). We have no idea what scouts missed with both players, but they have been leaders on their teams. Fugivmee's pro career has been with Roxbury since 2300.

Round 3
Round 3, Pick 19 - Warwick Mirelurks: SP Whip Lashley, age 18

Lashley has looked as though he has lost something on his pitch, but in seven CBO seasons with County Crossing, he has finished with 10+ wins every year. In his career, he is 96-45 with a 3.66 ERA.

Round 5
Round 5, Pick 1 - Diamond City Swatters: SP Trolley Dodge, age 18

In eight CBO seasons with FInch Farm and Oberland, Dodge has not been a super star but has been a decent pitcher in the rotation. H has won 10 or more games four times, including 12 in 2307. __________________

They were a bit of a surprise since they didn't have their "best" team, but going 11-2 in the postseason against three good teams is most certainly a dominant performance.

Looking at the team, they may still be at the top, but the team is all aging quickly. Their starting rotation will have three in their early 30s: Nut, Church, and Beach. Martinson will be 29. All their positional starters are either early 30s or late 20s.

However, unless those players suddenly take ratings hits, they will still be contenders for at least the next couple of years.

In the future, they have a few prospects that can come up and help the team. 1B Mountainside Rockhand, their 2306 1st-round draft pick, may displace Assman as early as 2308. They have a few pitchers who could develop into starters in the future, but none are close to being there yet.

2308 Preseason

BNN Report

News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

1 January 2308

2308 Preseason Begins

The 2308 season is just over a month away from having live games, and we have a few changes coming.

As mentioned, the CBO has now commissioned the Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference featuring eight reemerging institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth.

The youth leagues have also experienced some changes with name changes and readjustments of teams. While there has been talk of merging the youth leagues under one Commonwealth umbrella, there has been no announcement of when that merger will take place.

Not only has the C.I.T. announced its collegiate team, but the Cambridge area is now under the youth umbrella of the C.I.T. Academy. The Academy has taken on the Kendall Hospital jerseys and namesake, becoming the Yahoos.

Wattz and Fraternal Post 115 also closed their doors, but new youth dormitories were built in Worcester and Lowell to accommodate those youth players. The Ups will thus now be the Worcester Crows and the Leaders will now be the Lowell Frags. Lowell's mascot is a cartoonish frag grenade.

In the Southern Region, the Darwin Firesnakes have repurposed their team as part of the announced Glowing Sea Prep. The team will be abbreviated to be GSP and has dropped the Firesnakes name for the Venom, using a purple radscorpion and matching the future expanded CBO team, the Glowing Sea Radscorpions. Additionally, Brockton opened an expanded school building, taking in the Avon students to their facility to be known as the Brockton Claws. Their mascot will feature a deathclaw claw.

In the SCYL, two teams did not move but have changed their team names. Since Nate Howard has a rule that all CBO-affiliated teams must have a different team name, the Wellfleet Beacons have dropped their teamname due to Mass Bay University being known as the Beacons. The Wellfleet team will now be known as the Tarberries and use a Tarberry mascot. Woodlawn also dropped the corporate Red Clay name and will now be known as the Woodlawn Gnomes, named after the garden gnome graveyard found in the Woodlawn area of Providence.

The newly-formed BCAC has also announced its schedule for the 2308 season. Teams will play on average five games per week in the same format as the CBO in their 86-game schedule. Divided into two divisions, teams will play against the other division on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in a two-game series and Fridays through Sundays for divisional games. In all, they will play 54 divisional games and 32 interdivisional games. An All-Star Game has been scheduled for June 10 during the 10th week of the 18-week season. The regular season concludes on August 6 with the BCAC's 7-game College Series being a matchup of the two division winners on each side of the Charles River.
