I bought the game and I am look forward to playing it

It's my third time buying OOTP series and upcoming one makes me pretty interesting. Especially I am look forward to playing KBO/*** things in the game.

I hope it should be an interesting experience

Will this finally be the year where I do a live Mets run? I considered it the last two years but couldn't be moved in the end...

Pre-ordering OOTP 21 was technically the first time I bought any sort of baseball game. I then caved and got 20 as well just because I was so keen on playing. Turned out to be a real good deal since I just passed 55 hours played. That is a LOT of entertainment per $.

A word of caution, OOTP is extremely addictive... it's hard to quit when you're having so much fun

No kidding! I went from just knowing baseball existed to have a compulsive baseball disorder, watching spring training, reading and learning everything I can about the sport.

just a suggestion if you haven't already done so, but try to find Ken Burns baseball documentary. One of the magical things about baseball is its history and this documentary starts all the way back to baseball's infancy.

I have been looking for it, but it doesn't seem to be available on any of the streaming services I use. Netflix have a lot of Burns stuff, but not that one. (in Sweden at least).

Quite. It's in the back of my mind as I play historically, albeit with fictional players. Someday, I may go all the way historical with OOTPB.

Now, these "Critters," the Raccoons, I believe: Are they your subconsciousness at work? Are you recreating the Mets hoping to alter reality and failing? And, do you find this failure purgative in an odd way? Masochistic, even? Weird.

No-no, the Raccoons are entirely different from the Mets. First, they have leadership of the finest quality.

COUGH.

I meant my Critters GM and owner characters with that... although I see somebody having this sort of interaction with Jeffie...

Quote:
While Nick Valdes was berating me that the Raccoons were in last place and he wasn’t standing, nor paying for that, Tim Stalker tripled and scored on Wallace’s sac fly for a first-inning, 1-0 [Raccoons] lead. Early glimpses of doom included two infield singles for the damn [first-place] Elks in the top 2nd [...] ...after Michael Duryea grounded out, del Rio threw a wild pitch with two outs to bring the [Elks'] third run of the inning across. Nick Valdes was fuming and waving his newspaper with the standings of doom. I took the paper from him, turned it around, and then showed him the standings with the Coons on top. That retreated him to the couch to mull this over.

[...] Kurt Wall flew to center, Micah Massey moved over three steps, and that was it. 4-2 [Elks]. Ramos 2-4;

Valdes continued to be furious and pointed feverishly to his newspaper – the Raccoons had just lost to a last-place team!!
... I see, I see... not much difference after all.

Speaking of baseball documentaries, I thought "The Battered Bastards Of Baseball" was fun. It is on Netflix.

Given the wipeout of the start of the real season, I grandly announce a daily Mets run. For my own sanity - and yours!

I will try to roll the general raging madness of my Raccoons personnel into the Mets' front office in a way that won't cost OOTPD its MLB licence.
