Logo Question

Just downloaded logo maker and I am having a blast. Couple of questions. First, many of the logos have a white backdrop to them, even the png versions. My question is how do I fill it in? I am guessing transparency but it has been a while since I did made something transparent. Second, if I want to remove a name from the original logo I would do that through paint, right? A little guidance would be great.

I am technically-challenged so I didn't think I would be able to use this... but after a few minutes I had made a very good logo.

Absolutely unbelievable!

justafan, you are one brilliant person. This is truly marvelous software.

So simple, a computer illiterate can use it.

Thank you so much for all you do for this great OOTPB Community.

My first Pokemon logo

Not too shabby if I do say so myself. Took about 10 minutes to figure GIMP out and how to change it to a .png, but that was pretty easy

Hope you don't mind several questions from a novice at using software to create logos.

I have tried to learn the software for a day or two... this is my first serious attempt at creating my own logo.

I follow this procedure to load up the image into the software::

Select Folder>Select Image

The small image is there, but inside a smaller white circle 2, which is surrounded by a larger black circle 2 with white letterering.

(see posted image with justafan lettering)

Question 1: Do I just enlarge the copperhead image to fill up the inner white circle, using the Pickoff software?

(see posted image after I enlarged the copperhead image)

Or Is there a better way to do this?

Doing it this way means I can't add the baseball to the inner circle. This no big deal, but it might add a nice to touch to some logos.

Question 2: How do you change the download folder?

Does it give you a choice of the default folder when you originally download the software? Is that the only way to change the download folder?

Question 3:
Is there a way to clear the logo you are working on and begin the work again without exiting the Pickoff program?

The only way I can do this is to exit the program and reload the work.

I apologize if I missed the tutorial on the Pickoff.

Once again, this is a marvelous creation.
Thank you so much, justafan.

You are using an already made logo, which you can do, but you will have better success using the original logo. I have attached the original below for you.

You can either load a whole folder of images that populate the listview control at the left by using the "Select Folder" button, or you can load one image at a time by using the "Select Image" button.

If you loaded a whole folder, you just click on an image in the listview that you want to use.

When you installed the program, it setup a default logos folder in "..\Documents\justafan Software\Pickoff\Logos" along with some sample logos.

You can change the default logo folder in Options so it will load from there whenever you start the program.

You just select another image. You don't need to exit.

No problem, and no tutorial.

Here's the logo, and I tried my hand at it...

Thanks for all your help... and the very fine Copperhead logo... I'm looking forward to using it in my new dynasty report... which will begin soon at a ballpark near you.

The listview is on the left, not the right as I first said. I hope I didn't confuse you.

Sorry to have so many questions.

Is the logo creator just to create a logo?

Can it be used to revise an existing logo?

I'd imagine if you open the folder with your existing logos, it should work. They should already be .png files too

Revisions, no. However, it depends on what you mean by revisions. The logo image can be incorporated into a new logo and text, for example, added. However you cannot 'erase' say 'San Francisco' and substitute 'New York' on a Giants logo.

You can take a generic picture logo and put text around on it by reducing the size of the original logo, but that's mostly creating a new logo using an old logo rather then editing it.

Would it be possible to add some shield options in the next update? It would give some logos a European flair.

I don't think I'll be adding new new logo styles anytime soon, but if I do, I'll consider it.
