Player watch: Kyle Datres

Edited because of too much personal information about another person. Board violation, as I never attempted to obtain permission to post a lot of this stuff. My bad.

Will just say that I will only post statistical information, and pertinant development of this kid from his freshman year in high school, to whatever level he obtains. If I remember this thread exists in subsequent seasons.

Loyalsock defeated South Williamsport in the district final to go to state for the 4th time in five years.

Kyle went 2-3, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored in the 3-2 win.

This team has only one senior, with 3 freshmen.

That's what I'm hoping. The kid's a stud in the making.
14 years old, and he's throwing like a friggin pro. Amazing.

I'll keep updated on how they do in states. He's also playing in the Little League Seniors division. That league is looking pretty darn good as well, so hopefully he'll be playing all summer with his All-Star team.

Forgot to mention that Loyalsock was defeated on Monday by Philipsburg-Osceola.

Kyle pitched 4 innings, gave up 3 Hits, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, with 3 Ks in the 5-4 loss as a reliever. There was a last-inning rally where the Lancers scored 3 runs to make it 5-4. Kyle grounded out to second for the final out.

I don't know the season stats. I only know that Datres went 9-0 as a pitcher, and the Lancers went 13-2 for the year.

Here, when Vinny says he is 14, Datres was 16 and a half. Vinny never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Is Datres Dominican? 14 and 16 1/2 is basically the same thing on the island.
