Pitcher velocity league wide

Hi all,

I’m using feeders in my fictional historical leagues and create all players at age 14, so that they can get the “full high school experience” prior to the draft. One drawback is that pitcher velocity for these players is abnormally high by the time they reach age 23. I end up with an entire league full of guys that can top 100 mph.

This is not the same as the talent issue that I’ve seen many discuss (though don’t agree with) - but rather that the velocity bump which is usually two to three ticks for draftees created the usual ages 18 to 23, now becomes 5 to 6 bumps for my younger created players.

Is this a case of lowering the development speed setting as a fix? – Or is there otherwise some way to prevent an eventual league full of Nolan Ryans and Aroldis Chapmans when creating the teens?
