Game start
Hello everyone, unfortunately I am having problems with my ootp20, yesterday I installed it on my new computer and I can't use it because I see signs saying that I have missing files in the main folder. I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and it didn't work. I also tried to copy the files from the folder from another computer where I have the game and it works well and that did not help either. Anyway, I wanted to know how could I fix this? Thanks and regards.

Update: I now was unable to upload the files that are requested to get an answer so I am pretty lost out here and I would love to get some sort of answer.

Good evening,
My apologies that it's not letting you play and giving you quite the little slew of errors. This may not affect anything but can you do the instructions below and let me know if anything changes. Open the game settings dialog on main screen -> troubleshooting tab -> "open customizable data folder" -> navigate to database folder -> delete the entire database folder. After that, click on "force game data re-installation on the same screen. That attempt might fix some corrupt database files. If that doesn't fix anything and you're still seeing the same errors try the 2nd set of instructions below. The other attempt we're going to use is going to center around the error about the SQL Database having issues. The game does have an issue working with non-ASCII characters in your data path. The way to work around this is to use a different data path. To do so, open "Game settings" -> "Experts" tab and select another data path for OOTP like for example c:\ootp20 Then restart OOTP and see if it resolves those issues. Try those 2 and let me know if anything changes. Thanks Alex |
