Traded players NOT going to minors

I've been playing since iOOTP11, and have always wondered why players I trade for get added to the active roster, not the minors -- despite the message saying that they have been sent to my minors.

I usually remember to demote active players I am about to trade, filling their slots with minor league players even if I expect to send them back down right away (since I never can be sure which of three players I get in a trade might be put in any slots emptied by the trade).

But sometimes I forget -- and moving a new player to the minors after the trade hurts his morale, of course.

Any chance that this can be fixed?

I've asked about fixing that message in the past. If there is a slot open on the major league roster, the next incoming player will fill it, even via the draft! Be careful out there!
