For me, personally, it goes like this:

1. Historical
2. Modern
3. Fictional (when available)

I plan on playing all 3 modes though.

So, even if you plan on playing multiple modes, what will be your primary mode?

I never knew people were so into fictional. I'm modern all the way, and to be honest, I don't even care for fictional..

I hope there is an online mode of some sort so I can play against friends though.

Well, that's the fun. Take on the challenge of getting them into the playoffs.

I am super excited for this game and will be playing both modern and historical thoroughly, though I imagine historical will be what keeps me coming back.

1. Modern - 2 saves KHL with Dinamo Riga and a save where i start unemployed and see where the game takes me, with the ultimate goal of reading the NHL

2. Fictional - once im bored of my mondern day, which doesn't usually happen but i'll create a Baltic Super League, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and see how that goes.

As Geckon said if historical could some how include European leagues some day i'd have alot more interest. Im fine with it being the NHL of course. Might check it out see if i can stick at one.

My guess is that it's hard to find those informations. I've check the hockey DB website and the European leagues doesn't include the players statistics in many seasons.

You can find such info on eliteprospects.com. For example here are are stats for 2008/2009 players of VHK Vsetín: Eliteprospects.com - VHK Vsetin (it's 2nd minors (3rd overall) league team that has been founded in 2008 as a successor of another team in the same city*).

Here you have stats from the 1994/1995 season of the predecessor team: Eliteprospects.com - HC Vsetin.

And as I said I would be more than happy if KHL would have historical mode. Of course the more leagues the better but it would be huge amount of work to do that and it would require community help I think. But we have the 5th season in KHL now so it wouldn't be so much work to add previous four and continually work on historical mode with future seasons.

* The end of the old and foundation of the new team is merely formal thing. It is a direct successor, plays at them same city, at the same stadium etc...

Modern World, will start unemployed, trying to start in CHL then ECHL, AHL, and a stop in Europe and finally the NHL, make my way up the latter.
