Funny that as soon as I update to OOTP12 with the world series deal, I see this post for a hockey game.
1. If you make a hockey game as comparable to what Markus has done with baseball I will name my first born after you. Hockey is my favorite sport with baseball being number two. 2. I feel that I am in the minority when I say that I am not the biggest fan of FM and EHM. Too little in the way of cusomization options in each one. I hope that a lot of the influence in development will come from OOTP I really look forward to seeing how this game develops. Best of luck! |

That does rather preclude making a football game for sure lol. I could put together a primer, but it would probably be kind of pointless.
Agreed. Customisation is the key to games like this. Last edited by Cryomaniac; 10-18-2011 at 04:41 PM. |

Can you imagine an OOTP game that is not customizable?
So yes, the game will be customizable, even if we tackle the topic a bit different.

It is "S - E - B - A - S - T - I - A - N".

I don't want to imagine any game that isn't customizable, but most companies don't think like OOTP (cough)EA(cough).

There are a few Canadians who are members of the OOTP community. If there's one country that really loves its hockey, it's Canada. So I expect some of those folks will be happy to contribute.

An additional league to think about is definitely the British league (the EIHL):

This is great to see that a hockey game is in the works, but PLEASE consider a basketball project. There is no other career sim for the sport that is a viable product. The games from Wolverine Studios are too poor in quality when compared to OOTP products. I would offer up many hours of free help and consulting on a basketball game, although I'm not a programmer. |

This is excellent news indeed - sorely needed since the demise of EHM.

That's actually pretty funny. And confident. Good for you and good luck in your endeavor, Sebastian.

That's ok, as FOF is still a good title. Still play it frequently. But with OOTP and now hockey on the horizon, I will have a full world of sports games.

For leagues: we want to make sure to have the basic leagues covered with the first release. Additional leagues depend on help we can get, so if we find enough user to cover the UK league (or Germany, Sweden, Finland, ...) we will add them.
We will start a thread with more details for researchers later this week and start coordinate the big task of league/roster building.

This is sure a great news! Can't wait to see and buy it of course. Now that NHL Eastside Hockey Manager is dead, you can buy it anymore, a new project under the Out of the Park Developments umbrella is sure a good news.
BTW I'm a french speaker, so if you need help for the translation later just drop me a line. This is if you want a french canadian translation of course and not a weird french from France one. |

I will shoot you a message as we would love to have a french version for release. The project is already prepared to do it, we just need someone to translate the text.

That's B-A-S-K-E-T-B-A-L-L. Please make this the next OOTP project. Conduct some customer surveys, though you may want to wait until the lockout ends and basketball season is under way. Right now interest is at a low point due to the labor issues. But basketball has been the fastest growing sport in the world for years now, and there is a global market. Plus you could find researchers for European and South American teams like Football Manager uses.
Anyway, best wishes with the hockey game. In a former life, I could have been your lead researcher and scout for the NHL, minor leagues and junior leagues, even for Europe. But those days are behind me. |
