Historical League question
I've downloaded the historical db (Lahmans) and started my league in 1952. I'm wondering, in looking at the retired players list, there are a bunch of players that are very young (under 25) that are appearing retired that are not hurt. Example, pitcher Whitey Ford is 23 and shows in 100% condition but is listed as retired. Is this due to him being in the minors at the time I imported? Will he still make an appearance in the league draft? Can I do anything to ensure that him and other players of his ilk that are listed as retired are added back into the league for an upcoming draft?
thanks

Ford was in Korea (Korean War) in '51 and '52, but had played in the Majors in 1950. He rejoined the bigs in 1953. I'm guessing you imported a complete history, which is the only way a 1952 import would find Ford. I'm 95% sure the game will bring him out of retirement in 1953, provided you're importing historical rookies; he'll again be in the database for that year. Whether he is draft-available or joins the Yankees will depend on your setup.

Fingers crossed then, I'm hopeful he can make his major league debut somewhere in '53.
