Draft names are broken - only 2 first and last names used
Hi!
After modifying Questdogs files I used them successfully in the inaugural draft. Now, that the midseason draft is coming up, I get extremely non-random names (see picture). The same thing (with the same "range" of names) happens when I manually create Free Agents. What could be the cause of it? Opening the files names.txt and first_names.txt they look perfectly okay. Are there any settings I might have screwed up? Is there any way to rename the draft pool only? Obviously I don't want to have my regular players renamed. |

Sometimes, after your formulate the problem, you get ideas on how to solve it.
The problem seems to appear from a faulty save where the names in the csv were encased in quotes ( " ). I reimported everything into an HTML-Editor, made sure to save it in UNIX-Format (just to be on the safe side) and then used the Re-Import function at Game -> Advanced (Setup & Options) -> Global Database Functions (Re-Import Name and Ethnicity Database). I did not find an option to rename the draft pool only so I had to go the hard way (CTRL-ALT-DEL -> terminate OOTP13 process -> restart). Fortunately I had gotten to save my game after each match. Of course now I needed to re-import the database (because I hadn't saved since the last time). Yes, I had to redo the procedure ;-). Now it works properly. |
