Complete Games total plumits

I am playing a historical league, but with fictional players.

I am up to 1916 now, and I have seen the pitchers pitch what looks like modern day innings, they go about 7 innings, on occasion will get a CG. I though pitchers in these days were almost always going 9. I n my league most pitchers were always going 9 just a few years ago, but have gone down quite dramatically? Is this normal, has anyone else seen this? Is something wrong?

Under strategy, closer and reliever use is set to very rarely, pinch hit for pitchers is very rarely, and the player creation mod, is at 1.000

I also play with auto adjust LTMs and import player creation mods.

What is your League Strategy setting for pitcher stamina?

What is your current League Total Modifier for SP stamina?

I went and manually selected the year to re load the settings and strategies. Actually I screw up and try to type in the year instead of scroll down and I imported some more modern settings so my financials were all out of whack, and then selected 1917, and now the CG seem to be more in line.

Note that I did that after I found the problem, so that was not at all the cause of it. Some how the recalc is not working properly. It degrades over time.

Hard to say exactly what was going wrong for you, so I'll just say that my research into CG frequencies for historical leagues indicated that the most important factor reducing CGs was over-use of PHs for pitchers. The second most important reason was that the League Total Modifier tends to be too low, if getting realistic CGs is the goal. The LTM is set to produce realistic Innings Pitched for SPs. It does that well, but in doing so it causes CGs to be lower than historical. It's a tradeoff situation that is inherent in OOTP. I prefer to have the CGs and accept that my SPs will have higher IPs. So I give a boost of about 15-20% to the LTM for SP stamina.

All that is just information. You may have had something more significant go wrong.
