Introducing eMLB Legends - A New, Simpler Twist on Online Leagues

For 15 years, the eMLB Brand/Franchise has been running and providing quality OOTP entertainment to many. I have been grateful to those who have been there for the long haul, and been involved for a very long time.

However, as time has gone on, 5 kids, my own business, and other life matters, I've needed to simplify what was once a very complex league structure and rule set.

So, I've decided to go back to basics, and create a different type of OOTP league:

Introducing eMLB Legends

An OOTP 15 experience that will offer:

- Beginning in 1973.
- 24 teams to start, 4 divisions, 6 teams per division (Just like 1973 setup). We will adjust every season, and expand as new teams joined real baseball.
- Inaugural Auction to build teams. Teams can be built to your preferred style of play, and take your team/stadium into consideration.
- No in game financials, no scouting, no player development. All ratings will be known by all.
- No minor leagues. Just a reserve system. Teams will have no more than 40 players that they will own at any one time.
- Financials will be fantasy baseball/rotisserie style rules, kept on Google Docs. There will be an auction system to bid on players. A salary cap we all have to stay in.
- Free Agency will be more robust, as there will be a limit to how many players you can keep into a new season. More to come on this.
- Players will be ratings re-calculated every season. This means that players will be re-rated to how they performed in the year we will be in.
- Players will retire when they retired, will not play/be eligible if they missed an entire season for any reason. This will help provide strategy.
- Players will also enter the league when they first played at the Major League level.

My hope:

- The league will be simpler to run, the rules will be simpler, there'll be more activity and quicker transitions into new seasons. We were sometimes taking 10-12 weeks to begin a new season.
- This will provide a new twist on OOTP leagues. More of a truer style historical play.
- Teams should have more potential to be competitive since players will never be locked up long term unless someone is willing to pay a large extension on a player.

We have an immediate opening for the KC Royals in eMLB Legends. There's a lot of buzz for this new twist on using OOTP as the game engine while having a very fantasy baseball feel on financials done outside the game.

The season has begun, and the Mets and Phillies still need a GM. The early buzz on this hybrid concept of OOTP meets a fantasy baseball approach seems to be going well. I've heard people already discussing how they'll head into 1974, and we're only 3 games into this season!
