Online League File Issue Players.dat
Hi guys,
I'm in a long-running OOTP league, and we're having issues with the online file that we can't seem to solve. We have two tech-savvy commissioners but still can't seem to figure out the fix. The issue is that our commissioners file doesn't match up with the rest of the league. The Players.dat file is different, but we can't figure out how to fix it. The commissioners file works fine, but all the other GMs are seeing random players listed on their DFA's in their own file. These random players aren't on the teams that they are listed on the DFA, though, and when you hover the mouse over them or click them, an entirely different player shows up. I've attached a screenshot of one example below. This issue has occasionally happened in the off-season when retired players would get deleted, but it was always an easy fix and has never happened in the middle of a season which it has this time. Along with trying to fix the players.dat file, we tried replacing the names.dat file, and a few other things, but couldn't find a solution and now nobody can export until we figure out the issue. The commissioner will be around in the next few hours to give more details if necessary. It seems to be an obvious issue with the players.dat file, but just curious if there's a way to fix it for everyone or if we might have to go back to a working backup file from a few weeks ago. Any help is greatly appreciated, let me know if you need more information to help. Thanks guys! |

Does the commish file match the server copy? Is theirs correct for the players?
Most likely seems like the server copy got corrupted somehow, so maybe easiest if the commish with the valid copy simply uploads their league file for everyone to download again. |

Thanks for the quick response as always, Matt!
Our commish will try that fix when he gets home later, but I would imagine that will work. Will update later! |

Tell your commish to check all three boxes... 'include Names.dat', and 'Retired.dat' and 'new and changed'... and then create a new league file...
I had this happen in OOTP18 all the time when I started up XFBL.... Now I just check all three boxes... in fact I just do that regularly now, makes for a bigger league file, but no problems.... |
