Historical structure but fictional players?

I've been playing around with league creation a bit tonight (I always seem to spend days getting things worked out before I actually play) and what I _want_ to be able to do is have the built-in automatic historical structure with expansion, etc etc, but I want it with completely fictional players.

It seems that the only way to get the real major league structures is to go with the historical league, but that seems tied to using real life players?

Am I missing something here?

There is a method, posted around v12 I believe. The gist of it is you create a historical league then delete all players and populate with fictional players. Sorry but my recollection of it is dim.

Do an advanced search on Historical Fictional.

It might have been Deja Bru.

Yes, you have to be in commish mode. Create a historical league whenever. Then release all players, and delete all players. Then populate with fictional. This is all done through the league structure screens. The under the historical tab, check all the boxes you want to happen (auto expand, auto adjust league strategy, etc.). Do NOT check to import historical rookies. Instead, choose to have a draft. Make sure you create some levels of minor leagues. You're going to need them, unlike the historical leagues. Draft will populate with fictional players if you haven't chosen to import historical players. I always check to use ghost players as well. Anymore questions, let me know. This will make a fictional MLB tha twill proceed as the MLB did in real life (teams will move, change names, expand in '61 and so on), and the league totals and relievers usage, etc. will change over time as well.

So I'm guessing I want to also fill those minor leagues with fictional players as well, as otherwise my first season no one will have any reserves? Or is there a way to make sure I have those minors full of minor leaguer type guys when I create those leagues....

Yes. Fill them out. Some people will fill out all the teams. Then release all and have a fantasy draft.
