The offseason plans didn't work out the way the Golden Knights wanted...

Free agents targeted resigned with their clubs, so we decided to change our O tactics ( shero system -> tarasov system ) to see if the more O approach will help C Strome to realize his potential.

7 games into the season he was still struggling so we tried to swap him with LW Larkin onto the first line, but we lost all 3 games, and the decision was made to trade him. Larkin was doing well as a 2nd line C so we could afford to look at wingers too...

On the end it came down to the fact that we didn't want to be rebuilding the chemistry of two lines, so when we had to make the final decision, we went with C Patrick from the Flyers instead of RW Tippett of the Panthers...

We did resign our core players in the Off season, with G Murray being the most difficult to sign. We ended up agreeing on a 4year/7.41 Mil contract, the largest in VGK history...

The teams sits at the 6th place after November....

At the end of regular season, the Golden Knights ended up as deserving winners of the Presidents Trophy.
The Golden Knights had the best O and D in the league.
C Patrick ended up with 52 points in 71 games, while C Strome had 38 points in 70 games with their new clubs

Will the Golden Knights be able to 3peat....

The Golden Knights are through to the western conference finals after a 4-3 win over the Sharks. This was Vegas's hardest playoffs test in their short history and C Barkov, who returned from injury for the series scored the game winning goal in overtime of game 7!!!

D Hanafin was lost for the playoffs due to injury...

In the final it's the Wild who will test the Golden Knights for a chance to play in the Stanley cup Final!

the Golden Knights made it back to the Stanley cup final for the 3rd year in a row! This time they will face the NY Rangers, winners of the eastern conference and the team that placed 2nd overall only behind Vegas.

D Hanifin remains injured, but the Rangers have much bigger injury problems as D McDonagh, D Skjei, LW Sobotka and RW Druoin are all injured...

And they said it can't be done!!! The Vegas Golden Knight won their 3rd Stanley cup in as many years of their existence!!!

The injuries were too much to overcome for the Rangers against a stellar Golden Knights team and they lost the series 4-0, scoring only 4 goals in the entire series...

That comes as no surprise if you look at the All-Star teams as G Murray D Hanifin and D Ristolainen were selected to the 1st team and D Trouba and D Werenski to the 2nd team.

A flurry of awards was won by the Golden Knights players on the end of the season...
D Ristolainen won the Conn Smythe
G Murray won the Vezina and the Jennings
D Hanifin won the Norris
C Nash won the Selke (won last year as a RW)
D Trouba won the +/-
C Barkov won the Lady Bing
HD tk43 won the Adams

We have a dynasty in the making, how many more can this team win? Trades will be required soon as our young guys get into their 3rd contracts and starting to ask for large deals...

It's the start of the 4th season in the history of the VGK and they are being tipped as the team to beat this season.

Prior to the opening night we moved LW Dano for a 2nd round pick as he was asking for too much money on his next contract
We signed free agents LW McGinn, RW Fast, LW Karlsson, LD Jokipakka mainly to fill out depth roles and with potential look into next year when a number of our depth players will be due new contracts.
Contracts of a few depth and minor players were renewed as well as some core players.
2 time Selke winner C Nash got a new 3year/1.42mil deal, LW Larkin got a 2year/4.3mil deal and D Hanifin got a 1year/4.89mil deal
We picked up a couple of goalies of the waiver wire, might use them in future trades.
We are looking for a new 3rd pair RD as D Dumba is asking for too much money and LW Larkin's new contract is too much for his quality so we will be seeking an upgrade for him.

Opening night roster for 2020/2021 season

D Dumba was moved on together with a 3rd and 7th round pick for the 1st round pick to the Panthers

In a second deal with the Panthers LW Larkin was traded together with G Stolarz and a 7th round pick for LW Tippett

G Forsberg, D Karlsson (prospect) a 4th and a 5th were traded to the Canucks for D Woo and C Regin. Woo has signed a new 3year/2.07mil contract

We sent G Jarry and a 4th round pick to the Blackhawks for their 1st round pick

The VGK GM was happy how all the the moves worked out and sees the team in an outstanding shape for the season.

A legend of the game got traded too, when the Capitals moved on from LW Ovechkin...

Regular season comes to an end with the VGK sitting at the top...
We have nominations in most individual categories, 2 of the standing out. The Norris trophy and the Selke trophy have only VGK players nominated..
We lost D De Haan, LW Rakell for the playoffs and D Trouba is out for 5 weeks...

The Golden Knights breezed through the playoffs undefeated (16-0) to claim their 4th Stanley cup in a row. It is amazing that Vegas managed to win the cup in every year of their existence!!!
The closest to defeat the VGK was the Flyers in game 4 of the final which went to OT and was decided by C Patrick who was acquired from the Flyers previously...

the Golden Knights had several players win awards...

D Werenski won the Conn Smythe
G Murray won the Vezina and the Jennings
D Ristolainen won the Norris
C Nash won the Selke, his 3rd in a row
RW Laine won the Art Ross, was co-winner of Maurice Richard (the ingame doesn't says it but he scored the same amount of goals as LW Galchenyuk), the Lady Bing and the +/- award

The 1st All Star team had 4 VGK's in it, G Murray, D Werenski, D Ristolainen and RW Laine
The 2nd All Star team had 2 VGK's in it, D Trouba and D Hanifin
All of our D and our G are in the team again after last year

Start of the Off season is here and hard decisions are ahead for GM tk43...

3 time Selke winner C Nash retired at the age of 32 very unexpectedly!!!

Several young stars are due a new contract so this year might be the last with the current core together...

LD De Haan and LW Rakell will be traded to create cap space, so might be RW Jenner...

The start of the season is here and the VGK had to make several changes to pe Cap compliant. D De Haan, LW Rakell were traded for picks what saved around 7mil.
C Barkov asked for 8.5mil/2years which the VGK couldn't afford so he was shipped to New Jersey together with 4star prospect RW Parygin, 1st and two 2nd round picks for C Hischier who has 3years/2.9mil contract.

the entire D and G are signed for the next 3 seasons, and only RW Laine and C Patrick are signed for only the next 2 season so the team should be set for at least 2 more runs at the Stanley cup, the whole coaching setup was retained too...

Opening night roster...

At the end of the season the VGK won an amazing 72 games...
They are heavy favourites for the play offs but will have to get through the first round without 1st line C Patrick who's injured

The Season is over and we have a new Stanley cup champion. The Nashville Predators won their first cup!

The Golden Knights lost in the 2nd round to the Oilers, after losing RW Laine and LW Tkachuk to injuries, the VGK couldn't get the wins needed despite the statistical advantages.

Despite failing to win the cup, numerous players won awards

G Murray wins the Vezina and the Jennings
D Werenski wins the Norris
RW Wilson wins the Selke
RW Laine wins the Maurice Richard, the Art Ross, the +/- award

All but one of our players from last year returned to the All Star teams, where D Trouba didn't make it this year, but was replaced by our own D Brodin.
