Arena backgrounds

I notice there is a folder available for this in the graphics file under the quick start menu. What size does the photo need to be and how should it be named in order to work?

1024*768, 1280*800 or 1920*1200. The naming format is similar to team logos: teamname_size_year.png, where teamname is the exact team name (separate individual words and replace non-letters like a period with _), the size is 1024, 1280 or 1920, and the year (optional) is the first year this background should be used (same as with team logos), if you want the background to change over the years in a historical game, for example.

Forgive my ignorance on this - but if I am using the non-windowed version, what is the best resolution to use?

I usually stick with 1024x768, I like the screen arrangements at that resolution. But you can go with anything up to your system's display resolution (1920 may be out unless you have a bigger monitor.)

On this subject, so if I'm trying to get a background to show for Detroit Redwings using full screen in a regular current season, I would name it Detroit_red_wings_1024? I put it in like that but its not showing so I'm hoping im just leaving something out?? Thanks!

Yeah I have it in the 3rd option you wrote down, my saved game location... I first had it without a year at all but then tried it with the year (2015) but neither shows up... oh well, not a huge deal but just adds that extra special touch to it I could've got it to work. Thanks again for your help though I appreciate it!

I haven't messed with arena photos yet, where do they show up in the game? Just when you are watching a game play?

Duranium, ha ha thanks a lot.. yeah its a PNG file, one thing I just noticed, my picture is 1024 X 640... could it be cuz its not 1024 X 768? Could the 2nd number not being correct be throwing it off??? I guess I should change the picture size and try it exactly huh?
And didn't see the post you just put in but that would be awesome if you made that, especially if I could figure out why it wont show for me haha

Those look very nice...I mostly sim my games so likely won't be able to see them much if only on game screen.

hmmm....then i´m out of possible solutions - it could indeed be the 1024x640 resolution but i´m not 100% sure on that...
Would be the best if you drop Cole,Jeff or Seb a PM to get the info.

I tried a test by reducing the size of one of my arena backgrounds that worked by cutting it down from 1024 x 768 to be 1024 x 640, and it still worked. I noticed in an earlier post that when you listed your file name, it started with Detroit -- note that the name must be all lowercase (e.g, detroit). Maybe that's the problem.
