Thought I read here once that say strats were 2, 2, 2, 2.

At the beginning of each round, you'd have an equal chance of going for a KO, fighting inside, fighting outside or covering up. The AI determined that. In other words, you couldn't use up any strats.
You were only supposed to do it as much as your rating indicated, and they were up to 4 depending on the fighter. I didn't use them in the board game either.

As for the last part, that isn't the case at all. Certain strategies are used in certain rounds, there is barely anything random about it and there is nothing personal to the fighter past their style.

Absolutely, if not, you shouldn't even bother giving fighters strategy ratings.

OK, we'll have to agree to disagree here. I could picture a 15 round fight where a guy gets hurt in the 4th with a punch so in the 5th his opponent tries to KO him but doesn't. As the fight goes on, the fighter has the going for KO option only 1 more time. If he realizes he's way behind on the cards, I can't picture fighters with decent power (more than a Cory) not trying for the KO more than just 1 more time in rounds 11-15.

Like the great 1st Leonard/Hearns fight. Ray'd hurt Hearns in the 6th with a body shot but Hearns survived & then out boxed him. Ray realized he was falling behind on the cards & Angelo told him he was blowing it. Ray went after him in the 13th & finished him in the 14th. I'm sure Ray would have gone after Hearns in the 15th as well.

Fighters have killer instinct in any round. You seem to be confusing the two. In the 6th round leonard landed a 5pt body punch and he went for the kill after Hearns was hurt. The strategy involved there, if any, would have been fight inside. The late round go for KO's would be right in line with his rating.

As I've said a million times, enjoy the game however it works best for you. Past that, there isn't anything to disagree on. I'm right.

As long as you believe that to be the case, good for you!

Nobody is disputing that - but KI is used once the other fighter is hurt. Going for KO increases the PP of the fighter.

Leonard wasn't going all out for the KO in round six, he was fighting inside and he hurt him. Regardless of the strategy, when the box pops up and asks if you want the fighter to cover up; that means his killer instinct has kicked in, that overrides strategy because there is no variable for control, he automatically has control.

Now if someone goes for all out KO - yeah then you're really opening yourself up to a counter shot & throwing caution to the wind - especially against a banger like Hearns.

I just view going for regular KO as being more aggressive with no/little intention of trying to out box the other guy for that round.

As usual, your views are wrong.

Why do you have to be like that, can't people just have different views in your world?

If this debate is any indication, you're a real my way or the highway sort of fella.

When something is completely correct, that's all it is. There is nothing else. You're a real feminine kind of fella.
