I like those - they have the right flavor, especially since we'd be simulating ALL of baseball in America at that time.

American Pastime is a good name. I would be interested in joining if you get this off the ground, Joe.

A difference of opinion; I like the thought of integrating the leagues (B,C, or D).

League could be called 'Crossing the Line - An Alternate History of Integrated Baseball'

Anyway, I'd like to participate, whatever the decision is.
I'd like the Atlanta franchises if they are available.

Thanks Joe!

I agree with DoubleA.
Why would you want to start two separate leagues? What for? I mean, where is the connection if the players can't change leagues? Only time?

The integration concept would create a unique "What if?" feeling.
Also, I think Crossing The Line and American Pastime sound good.

there'd only be one Atlanta franchise.

I like this too. Cooley has both my favorite names.

One question, would we, at some point, integrate the Negro League into the Major Leagues? I think it would be unique, to me, to have two teams and run both leagues at the same time.

Yes, those would be good. I've actually been contemplating the possibility of doing the 1891 integrated league and the 1920 segregated league, which would cover both bases, because those two ideas both really appeal to me.

Yes, the beauty of doing (e) would be that we'd be following history and guys would have two teams to keep their interest up. We'd also be able to integrate very easily, especially with the new version.

OK, assuming that we go with choice (e) - at least to start, with the possibility of also doing the 1891 integrated ahistorical league as well sometime later this spring, who is interested in signing on?

The league will be called "The American Pastime" and will have two seperate league files TAP I (MLB) and TAP II (Negro Lgs), but will share a home page and people will own a team in both leagues. We can pair up by city (where possible), for consistency.

Historical alignment for MLB will be used. We'll jigger the Negro League teams a bit because there was only the NNL in 1920 (ECL started in 1923) and there were only 14 teams instead of 16.

Here's the rundown of the teams:

MLB Team - Negro League Team
Boston Braves (NL) - Nashville Elite Giants (NNL)
Boston Red Sox (AL) - Cuban Stars (ECL)
Brooklyn Dodgers (NL) - Brooklyn Royal Giants (ECL)
Chicago White Sox (AL) - Chicago American Giants (NNL)
Chicago Cubs (NL) - Chicago Giants (NNL)
Cincinnati Reds (NL) - Cincinnati Cubans (NNL)
Cleveland Indians (AL) - Indianapolis ABCs (NNL)
Detroit Tigers (AL) - Detroit Stars (NNL)
New York Giants (NL) - New York Lincoln Giants (ECL)
New York Yankees (AL) - Atlantic City Bacharach Giants (ECL)
Philadelphia Athletics (AL) - Hilldale Daisies (ECL)
Philadelphia Phillies (NL) - Baltimore Black Sox (ECL)
Pittsburgh Pirates (NL) - Pittsburgh Crawfords (ECL)
St. Louis Browns (AL) - Kansas City Monarchs (NNL)
St. Louis Cardinals - St. Louis Giants (NNL)
Washington Senators (AL) - Homestead Grays (ECL)

Most of the teams match up nicely. The biggest mismatch is the Braves - Elite Giants.

You should email me your team preferences and I will post them here as confirmed.

You going with real rosters from 1920 Joe? Or just using the team names and having a draft?

I got another League name idea: The Great American Baseball Coalition. GABC for short.

I think the best thing would be real rosters on the MLB side and a draft on the Negro League side.

OK, the league is apparently full (assuming GeoWar and scprideandms email me). I never received the email from scprideandms and Geo posted for the Monarchs before the dual-management aspect was decided so I do need to hear from him as well.

Thanks to all who checked us out.
