Managerial Changes
In all of my years of OOTP I have never pulled the plug on a manager in mid-season.
I play MLB quickstart and bring back the Expos. It is currently year 2026. My current manager is George Lombard who I brought it in at the start of 2024. He was my plan B when Dave Roberts became too expensive. Lombard was able to take us all the way, winning the World Series. Coming back with a 'stacked' team for 2025, we won only 85 games. This year, we are in the race but still underperforming. I have tried 'everything' except making this switch. I would characterize my team as being Veteran (average age 28-29 yrs) Lombard is an Easygoing Tactitian. Reputation is Average (his contract is up at the end of the year) My two best options for replacement are: Albert Bradley (my old AA team's manager) who is a Controlling Conventional manager with a Good reputation. No big league experience Mike Matheny who is a Personable Sabermetric who also has a Good reputation. Matheny has won the Series with the Cards since 'real life' ended and has generally got decent win totals. Your experiences? Thoughts? |
